PCTs are integral members of the care team, delivering hands-on care that directly supports patient outcomes. From assisting with mobility, personal care and meals to collaborating continuously with nurses and interdisciplinary teams, PCTs contribute essential clinical and compassionate care throughout the day. Their role reflects both technical skill and a commitment to teamwork, making them a foundational part of high-quality patient care.

On National Cancer Survivors Day®, we celebrate survivors and the care teams, families and loved ones who support them.

Dallas artist Reuben Cheatem was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and found patient-centered oncology care at Medical City Dallas. During treatment, painting became a meaningful outlet for healing. Today, three years cancer-free, his artwork reflects hope, strength and resilience.

We are proud to have helped expand access to mental health education for secondary students across North Texas through free access to EVERFI’s Understanding Mental Wellness course.

During the 2025-26 school year, more than 4,400 students in 77 schools completed the online course, gaining tools and awareness to better understand and support their mental well-being.

If you’ve had a baby, you may have heard of – severe bleeding after childbirth. While uncommon, it can become life-threatening without prompt treatment, which is why it’s important to recognize warning signs early.

Across our broader HCA Healthcare network of care, more than 200,000 babies are delivered each year. Clinical data from those deliveries helps us identify and implement evidence-based practices to improve maternal and newborn outcomes. This includes reducing elective deliveries before 39 weeks, strengthening blood clot prevention and using medications to reduce the occurrence and severity of postpartum hemorrhage.
