LBU Community Clinic LBU Community Clinic provides quality primary healthcare to families in need throughout Dallas LBU has been fully accredited by The Joint Commission since 1998.

In 1972, residents of several West Dallas neighborhoods united to open a community clinic in a portable building to serve a population disenfranchised from the services of the city due primarily to language and cultural differences. LBU Community Clinic (LBU) has flourished remarkably over the past 43 years. Nearly 30 clinicians provide care to over 25, 000 patients through 84,000 visits. Patients

are drawn from communities throughout the D/FW Metropolitan area, although West Dallas, Oak Cliff and Grand Prairie are core service areas. LBU proudly provides top-notch care to all people regardless of race, ethnicity, place of residence or even the ability to pay. Today, LBU boasts over 74,000 square feet of clinic space on a West Dallas clinic campus and in Oak Cliff. In the summer of 2020 we opened our newest clinic in South Oak Cliff. Primary care services include pediatrics, prenatal and postpartum care, adult care, mental health care, dental care for children, a WIC program and a pharmacy. LBU has gained a great deal of experience after 50 years of serving the community and continues to respond to the community’s changing needs.

North Texas Giving Day is fast approaching! LBU Community Clinic staff, Call Center Manager, Mireya Zuvieta and Chief Development Officer, Joleen Bagwell, were up bright and early this morning to celebrate North Texas Giving Day, along with 100 other North Texas nonprofit organizations. We all joined WFAA's Daybreak reporter, Sean Giggy - and the Communities Foundation team to "go live on air" with enthusiasm and excitement!

Yesterday, North Texas Area Health Centers (NTACHC) invited guests, including other local health center leaders, to honor and celebrate Congressman Marc Veasey as his final term comes to an end. Health care leaders have a great deal of appreciation for all the Congressman has done to support access to healthcare in his Fort Worth and Dallas districts. LBU Community Clinic is honored to celebrate National Health Center Week alongside fellow community health center leaders.

Our CEO, Leonor Marquez, and Chief Development Officer, Joleen Bagwell, Foremost Family Health Centers' CEO, Joyce Tapley, and Prism Health's CEO, Dr. John Carlo, were proud to attend the Dallas County Commissioners Court meeting, where a formal proclamation was presented recognizing the vital role community health centers play in improving access to quality, affordable health care.

We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. John Carlo for coordinating this meaningful recognition, and to Commissioners Dr. Theresa Daniel, Andy Sommerman, Judge Clay Jenkins, John Wiley Price, and Dr. Elba Garcia for their longstanding support of expanded access to health care across our communities.
