9 of the world’s top 10 highest obesity rates are in the Pacific.
That statistic doesn’t make me think about weight.
It makes me think about diabetes.
Heart disease.
Kidney disease.
Premature death.

As a Pasifika nurse, I refuse to believe this is “just life.”
I believe our community deserves to live longer.

This isn’t about being skinny.
It’s about preventing the chronic diseases that are taking our parents, siblings, cousins, and friends too soon.
The only thing that changes our health is action.

Not tomorrow.
Not Monday. TODAY 🙏🏽

Because kidney disease doesn’t just take lives.
😔 It takes freedom.

And I can’t help but wonder how many people would’ve made different choices if they had known their risk sooner.

⚠️ STOP GUZZLING DOWN THESE MEDS WHEN YOU HAVE A COLD!
Just because a medication is sold over the counter doesn’t mean it’s harmless.

Many cold and flu medicines contain decongestants that can raise your blood pressure and heart rate.

If you have high blood pressure, heart disease, or don’t know where your blood pressure stands because you haven’t had a recent check-up, take these medications with caution and talk with your healthcare provider or pharmacist.

This is your reminder to:
😌 Know your blood pressure
😌 Get your annual physical
😌 Read medication labels

One of the few Emergency symptoms; CHEST PAIN ⚡️
Too many of us were taught to “wait it out.”But chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating, nausea, or pain spreading to your jaw/arm can be signs of a 🚨 MEDICAL EMERGENCY!!!

Not every heart attack looks dramatic like the movies.

Minutes matter.Waiting too long can lead to permanent heart damage, disability, or death.

Please don’t ignore your body trying to warn you ☹️🙏🏽
