Generations of families have welcomed babies at Lincoln Hospital, cared for by physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurses and others devoted to mothers and babies. That is why the MaineHealth Board of Trustees’ decision to transition Labor and Delivery services from Lincoln Hospital to MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital was so difficult. Looking for support, new ideas and practical tips for living well with diabetes?

Join the MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital Diabetes Support Group on Thursday, August 13, from 1–2 p.m. at the Webster Van Winkle Building, 79 Schooner Street in Damariscotta, for a special Recipe Swap with the Dietitian.

Bring your favorite diabetes-friendly recipe to share or bring a recipe you'd like help adapting. Appetizers, meals, snacks and desserts are all welcome! Participants are also invited (but not required) to bring a prepared dish to sample.

The Diabetes Support Group is free and open to people living with diabetes, family members, caregivers and anyone interested in healthy living.

🎉 Congratulations to Community Routes on receiving the 2026 Coulombe Center Award for Innovation!

This recognition celebrates the program's creative approach to helping people across Lincoln County access the food, household supplies and other essentials they need to stay healthy and supported.

Launched earlier this year, Community Routes—part of Healthy Lincoln County—uses the familiar "Lulu the Lunch Wagon" to deliver supplemental food, hygiene products, clothing and other basic necessities directly to community members facing transportation or access barriers.

In just a few months, the program has:
• Served 128 community members
• Established recurring deliveries to 19 households
• Delivered more than 800 pounds of food
• Distributed more than 1,000 essential household and personal care items

The annual Coulombe Center Award for Innovation recognizes programs that strengthen connections and improve the health and well-being of local communities. Along with this honor, Community Routes received a $3,000 grant to help sustain and grow its impact.

In observance of Independence Day, all Lincoln Hospital ambulatory practices will be closed on Friday, July 3. Walk-In and Urgent Care will be open for normal business hours on both Friday and Saturday.

As always, our Emergency Department remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
