As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, remember that mental health isn't something we focus on for just one month. It deserves our attention every day of the year.
As an EMDR therapist and trainer, I have the privilege of witnessing healing in many different ways. One of the most impactful lessons I've learned from both clients and clinicians is that healing isn't linear. Progress rarely follows a straight path, and growth often happens in moments that we may not be able to see from the outside. I've also witnessed so many times that healing is possible.
It takes courage to ask for help and to really go where you need to go in therapy, to take a break when overwhelmed, and to keep moving forward even when the path feels uncertain.
Whether you are doing the work work of healing yourself, supporting others in their healing journeys, or both simultaneously....thank you for being part of reducing stigma and creating space for healing. I see you and I honor you.
Mental Health Awareness Month may be ending, but the importance of mental health awareness and compassionate care towards ourselves and others needs to continue. 🙏 ❤️🩹
