August's Dog Days of Summer theme has something for everyone, while Morning Pointe in Motion virtually takes us to Tokyo, Japan, where we'll discover the traditions behind favorites like ramen and sushi. We'll also honor Purple Heart Day, celebrate Senior Citizens Day, and enjoy special activities for International Cat Day and International Dog Day.

🍎🚐 Scenic drives and warm apple pies... now that's a pretty great combination!

Our residents enjoyed an afternoon drive around Danville, taking in the scenery before making a sweet stop at McDonald's for warm apple pies. It was the perfect excuse to get out, enjoy the ride, and treat ourselves along the way!

Our residents enjoyed their weekly Bible study at The Hub Coffee House + Cafe in Danville, sharing meaningful conversation before treating themselves to iced lattes. It's always a joy to spend time together in the community while growing in faith.

🏍️ You never know who you'll meet on a lunch outing.

A trip to Applebee's Grill + Bar turned into an afternoon full of surprises when residents met a local motorcycle club that invited them to check out their bikes and snap a few photos. Along the way, they also enjoyed meeting other members of the community, making lunch out feel like a little adventure.

Brenda Fredrick, Cindy Tanner, and Colleen Thompson had a wonderful time getting out, trying something different, and making new connections.

💙 Sometimes the best lessons come from experiencing things a little differently.

As part of Best Friends™ training, new team members Kayla and Chasity participated in hands-on exercises designed to build a deeper understanding of some of the physical and sensory changes that can accompany aging and dementia. Using specialty gloves and simulation goggles, they experienced challenges with dexterity and vision while learning techniques that help support person-centered dementia care.

Investing in education like this helps our team continue providing compassionate, thoughtful care to every resident, every day.
