July is Fibroid Awareness Month
Uterine fibroids are benign (noncancerous) growths that develop from the muscle tissue of the uterus. They are the most common type of growth found in a woman’s pelvis. Many women have fibroids without symptoms, while others may experience:
• Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding
• Pelvic pain or pressure
• Frequent urination
• Constipation
• Pain during in*******se
• Difficulty becoming pregnant
If fibroids are affecting your daily life, talk with your OB-GYN. Treatment options vary based on your symptoms, the size and location of the fibroids, and your future pregnancy goals.
