Discovery Counseling Center Compassionate, affordable, discreet mental health care for individuals, seniors, couples, families, teens, and groups since 1971.

Discovery Counseling Center is a community based non-profit organization serving the San Ramon Valley for over 50 years. Discovery Counseling Center’s mission is to be the community’s leader in mental wellness by:
-Providing affordable, high quality, culturally appropriate and accessible counseling services and programs;
-Offering excellent and highly-regarded training for future mental health pr

ofessionals;
-Creating greater awareness of the prevalence of mental wellness issues in our community and the importance of early treatment;
-Serving as the community’s advocate in securing adequate funding and resources for the treatment of mental wellness issues. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee Mission Statement:
This committee will be Discovery Counseling Center’s agent for ensuring that the agency supports our diverse staff and the community which we serve by:
-Implementing effective Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies and practices;
- Providing on-going DEI training and education for Board members and staff;
-Promoting a safe environment in which DEI issues and concerns can be discussed and addressed; and
-Evaluating progress in our goal to be an inclusive, diverse and equitable workplace.

💙☀️ Sometimes, one conversation can change more than you realize.

In our newest blog, The Courage to Reach Out, SRVUSD high school student Kylie Ikeda shares what happened when a simple conversation with a friend turned into something much more meaningful.

They talked about anxiety. They listened to each other. They realized they were both carrying worries they hadn’t been talking about.

And Kylie was reminded of something important:

✨ We don’t always need to fix what someone is going through. Sometimes, simply listening can make a difference.

Kylie also shares her own experience with therapy, how it has helped her, and why she believes talking openly about mental health can help reduce the stigma around asking for support.

With a new school year underway, it’s a message worth sharing. 💙
