In observance of Memorial Day, OB-GYN Associates of Danville will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026.

As we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful holiday.

I have recently had several patients ask me about my office schedule and what types of Obgyn visits I am currently providing.

In the past four years, we have seen labor delivery services in Martinsville and South Boston close, which has affected both pregnancy care in those communities as well as outpatient and inpatient gynecology and gynecological surgery access.
This leaves more women in the communities surrounding Danville with limited access to management for pregnancy care as well as gynecology problems such as: heavy periods, fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, menopausal symptoms, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence and more.

To adapt to these changes, I have adjusted my schedule to focus more time on gynecology problems, surgery and obstetric care– which leaves less availability in my schedule for routine annual gynecology visits and acute problem visits like urinary tract infections.
In addition to Dr. Newell and Dr. Neal, Obgyn Associates has several excellent midwives and nurse practitioners who are taking care of the majority of our patients for their routine gynecology visits and many of the acute problem visits.

While I am accepting referrals for gynecology problems and gynecologic surgery consults, new patients and even many of my existing patients are seeing the nurse practitioners and midwives for much of their care. Please know that as problems arise or abnormalities are seen on exam, I am often involved in reviewing your care or you may be scheduled to see me for additional work up or management options.

Our first lactation class is officially just 2 weeks away! 🤍

Also, just a quick clarification — you do not have to be a patient of OB-Gyn Associates to attend. These classes are open to all expecting and postpartum families in our community, regardless of where you receive your care.

My goal is simply to provide education, support, encouragement, and a welcoming space for parents during their feeding journey. Please feel free to share with anyone who may benefit!

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Amanda Pulley, DNP, the newest provider at OB-GYN Associates of Danville! Amanda brings over 20 years of experience in women’s health and a passion for caring for women and families in our community. We are excited to have her join our team and look forward to the compassionate care she will provide to our patients.

"Women’s health has always been where my heart is.

I began my career after graduating from Danville Regional Medical Center School of Nursing, starting in Labor & Delivery and cross-training in nursery, postpartum, and pediatrics. I earned my BSN from Liberty University in 2011 and later served as weekend charge nurse of the Women’s & Children’s unit for over 12 years.

After more than 20 years in women’s health, I returned to Liberty University and earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in December.

I’m especially passionate about caring for women during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. I’ve been approved to sit for my IBCLC board certification and look forward to expanding my support for breastfeeding moms and newborn care.

My goal is to provide a space where patients feel comfortable, heard, and supported-always.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our four kids, planning trips, homeschooling my youngest, and working on home projects.
