Would you risk your life for one pill?!

It only takes 2 milligrams of fentanyl to kill you. Fentanyl is 50x stronger than he**in and 100x stronger than painkillers like morphine. It's being mixed into fake pills because it's cheap, easy to make, and super addictive. But it's also deadly.

When in doubt, throw it out! One pill can kill, and we're losing too many Virginians to this deadly drug.

Overdose does not discriminate. It can impact any family, any neighborhood, and any community.

This International Overdose Awareness Day, let's replace judgment with compassion and stigma with understanding. Knowing the risks, recognizing the signs of an overdose, and being prepared to respond can help save a life.

Because behind every statistic is a person -- a friend, a parent, a child, a coworker, a neighbor--who matters. 💜

💜 August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day.

Today, we remember the lives lost to overdose, stand beside the families and friends who carry their memory, and remind our community that every life is worth saving.

Overdose is preventable. Recovery is possible. And compassion, education, and connection can make a difference.

Together, we can end stigma, raise awareness, and help connect people with the support they need.
