“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11)

When Jesus described the wise builder in Matthew 7, He wasn’t giving a construction lesson—He was giving a life lesson. Storms come to everyone. Winds hit every house. But only one stands firm: the one built on the Rock.To build on Jesus means choosing His words over your worries, His truth over your feelings, His presence over your pressure. It’s not about perfection; it’s about foundation. When your footing is Jesus, fear loses its grip, chaos loses its power, and the storm loses its authority.

Today, steady your heart by remembering you are not standing on shifting sand. You are standing on Jesus, the solid Rock.

Today we pause to remember. Honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom, we are grateful for their sacrifice. We are also reminded that Jesus gave His life for our eternal, spiritual freedom. May God comfort every family who remembers a hero today, and may we live worthy of the freedom they protected. May we live worthy of our faith in Christ.

Keep Your Eyes on the Lord

“My eyes are always on the Lord; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” — Psalm 16:8

Life has a way of pulling our attention in every direction. Worries about tomorrow, disappointments from yesterday, and pressures from today can easily steal our focus and drain our peace. But David, who wrote Psalm 16, discovered a powerful secret. Stability comes from keeping our eyes on the Lord. That does not mean that we ignore our problems. It means we keep our attention on the One who is greater than our problems. When our eyes are fixed on our circumstances, fear grows. When our eyes stay fixed on God, faith grows.

David also said, “He is at my right hand.” In Bible times, the right hand represented strength, support, and protection. God was not distant from David; He was near, steadying him through every storm. Because of that closeness, David could confidently say, “I shall not be shaken.” Today, whatever you are facing, remember this: the Lord is still beside you. He has not abandoned you in the struggle. Keep your eyes on His faithfulness instead of your fear. Keep your heart anchored in His promises instead of your problems. The same God who held David steady will hold you steady, too.

The Heart of Jesus
The heart of Jesus was pure. Peter traveled with Jesus for three and a half years. Peter was as close to Jesus as anyone one earth, and he described Jesus as a “lamb, unblemished and spotless” (1 Peter 1:19). The heart of Jesus was peaceful. The disciples shouted for fear in the storm, but Jesus slept through it. Peter drew his sword to fight the soldiers, but Jesus lifted His hand to heal.
The heart of Jesus was purposeful. He aimed at one goal—to save us from our sins. “The Son of man came to seek and to save the lost." (Luke 19:10). His heart was spiritual. He regularly spent time alone with His Father. His times of prayer guided Him. John 5:19 says, “The Son does whatever the Father does.”
May our hearts be like the heart of Jesus.

A godly mother is one of the clearest reflections of God’s own heart—steady, sacrificial, patient, and full of grace. Her hands have served, her words have guided, and her prayers have covered us even when we didn’t know it. Long before we understood faith, we often saw it lived out in our faithful mother—through unwavering love in every season of life.

The Bible reminds us that “her children rise up and call her blessed” (Proverbs 31:28). This week, we do just that. We rise with gratitude for every sacrifice made, every lesson taught, and every moment she pointed us toward Christ. A mother’s love doesn’t just nurture the present—it shapes eternity. Seeds of faith planted in the hearts of children often grow into lives that honor God for generations to come.

To every mother, spiritual mother, grandmother, and woman who has poured love into others: thank you. Your faithfulness matters. Your influence is eternal. And your love is a beautiful reflection of the love of God.

Have a Happy Mother’s Day.

"So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13)

At the time when postage stamp machines were placed in the lobbies of post offices, an older lady continued to stand in line to buy her stamps. When she was told by the clerk that she did not have to stand in line anymore, but could use the machine, she replied that she did not want to use the machine, because it did not talk to her and did not ask to see pictures of her grandchildren. She liked talking to the clerks. She liked knowing people cared about her. God created us for relationships. We all need the love of others. We need each other. What a great blessing to have friends who care for us!
