Molly Ann Hufsey

Molly Ann Hufsey, 98, of Bettendorf, Iowa formerly a long-time resident of Eldorado, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Kahl Home, Davenport.

Visitation service to celebrate Mrs. Hufsey’s life will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 with the funeral service to begin at 12:30 on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Gospel Assembly Church, 1401 Mahoney Street, Eldorado, Illinois. Keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Molly Ann Grounds was born on April 19, 1928, Cave-In-Rock, Illinois, a daughter of Jolly and Gertie (Cruise) Grounds. She was united in marriage to Herman Hufsey on April 20, 1946. Herman and Molly owned and operated Hufsey’s Café and Grocery Store which also evolved into a Gas and Feed Store as well. Following the sale of their businesses, Molly went to work at a nursing home in Rosiclare, Illinois as their dietary manager. She had an incredible work ethic.

Molly took great pride in her award-winning flower garden, pouring countless hours of love and care into creating something beautiful. She read the Bible cover to cover multiple times and was a devoted and active member of Gospel Assembly, where her faith and love for others were evident. Above all, she treasured her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them, especially playing trains and making memories together. She also had a special love for her animals, including her beloved dog, Gizmo, who brought her great joy and companionship.

Those left to honor Molly’s memory are her children: Keith (Kim) Hufsey, Bettendorf, Iowa and Annette (Bill) Cooper, Eldorado, Illinois; grandchildren: Kareicia (Curtis) Driscoll, Bettendorf, and Jared (Amanda) Cooper, Eldorado; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Zachary, Atalissa, Alyvia, Ryder, Hogan, Lillian; great-great grandson, Crue; a sister, Wilmeta Little, great-nephew and great-niece, John Grounds and Theresa Wolf.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a special nephew and his wife, John (Cathy) Grounds, her parents, and siblings, Gordon, Lowell, and Jolly (Jr.) Grounds.

Janaan K Pauly

Janaan K. Pauly (Thompson), 88, of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Blue Grass. A private burial will be held at Davenport Memorial Park.

Janaan was born on May 15, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, the cherished daughter of Elmer and Alo Thompson. It was in Dubuque where she met the love of her life, Thomas Pauly. The couple was united in holy matrimony on September 4, 1960, and shared a lifetime of love and devotion.

Janaan dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She poured her heart and soul into creating a warm, nurturing environment for her family. She loved interior decorating and took great pride in tending to her yard. Above all, Janaan loved her family fiercely. Her greatest joy was hosting holidays, gathering her loved ones under one roof to share in laughter, love, and beautiful traditions. Her warmth, hospitality, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Janaan is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas; children, Pennie (Tom) Sierra and Ted (Amy) Pauly; grandchildren, Candace Watt, Staci Clevenger, Connor (Cassidy) Pauly, Collin Pauly, Phiona Pauly, and Francesca Pauly; and great-grandchildren, Autumn, Hayden, Stella, and Luci.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Alo, and her sister, Sheila Dolan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Janaan’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart.

Don Glowacki

Donald E. “Don” Glowacki, 88, of Davenport, died Friday, August 28, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Don will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2026 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4105 N. Division Street, Davenport. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island with military honors. The family will greet friends on Friday, October 23 from 9:30 a.m. until Mass begins in the gathering space at Our Lady of Victory. Memorials may be made to the Columbus Club of Davenport. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Don was born on November 14, 1937, in Davenport, the youngest of seven children of Vincent and Marie (Schier) Glowacki. He graduated from St. Ambrose Academy in 1956 and attended St. Ambrose College. Don was a proud veteran of the US Navy, serving our country from 1956 until 1958. He married Sandy Cleveland on February 24, 1962, at Sacred Heart Church, Moline, IL. They raised three daughters and Don cherished spending time with them and their families - especially his ten grandchildren. The moments he treasured most were when everyone was gathered together.

Don worked for many years at the Rock Island Arsenal as a computer analyst. He was a longtime member of Holy Family Parish in Davenport where he was an usher, and his daughters attended grade school. He was a longtime and active member of the Knights of Columbus. He volunteered for the pancake breakfast, Saturday burger days, Friday night fish fries during Lent, and helped at the Grid Club Luncheons. Don was also a longtime member of the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home Pallbearer Club, serving alongside his brothers.

Don was a man of many talents. He could fix anything, which came in handy with the many rental properties he and Sandy owned through the years. Don enjoyed playing euchre and gin with family and friends, golf, and pickleball - a movement he claims he helped start in the Quad Cities! He was a loyal friend who made it a priority to stay connected to people. Those who knew Don will especially remember his sense of humor. It was rarely filtered and entirely his own. He always enjoyed a good laugh and would strike up a conversation with anyone.

Those left to honor his memory are his loving wife, Sandy, Davenport; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori (Dave) Dupont, Bettendorf, Kim (John) Libert, Elmhurst, Illinois, and Bridget (Todd) Rinehart, Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren: Austin (Kinsey) Dupont, Brian (Megan) Dupont, Jack (Jenn) Libert, Luke, Emily, Claire, Grace, and Danny Libert, and Katie and Natalie Rinehart; sister-in-law, Sharon Glowacki, Davenport, and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: George Glowacki, Gene Glowacki, Delores Warlop, Jerry Glowacki, Dick Glowacki, and Bill Glowacki. May they all rest in eternal peace.

Dean L. Krueger

Dean L. Krueger, 71, of Davenport, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, with his devoted wife by his side.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church – Vianney Campus in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be private.

Dean was born in 1954 to Floyd and Agnes Krueger. He graduated from Alwood High School and later attended DeVry University in Chicago. A gifted and dedicated systems engineer, Dean worked for IBM for 37 years.

Dean married Kim McCool in 1989. Together, they shared 36 years of deep devotion, steadfast love, and a life built side by side.

A member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Dean possessed a profound appreciation for nature. He devoted years of patient work and loving care to cultivating a beautiful natural prairie at his home—a place where plants, birds, and wildlife could flourish. The prairie he nurtured will remain a lasting reflection of his quiet strength, tenderness, and respect for God’s creation.

Dean was dependable and unfailingly generous with his time. Whenever a friend called or someone needed a helping hand, he was among the first to show up. Though strong and reserved, he also possessed a deeply tender heart. His love for Kim and his family was steadfast and unshakable.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kim McCool; his children Benjamin and his wife, Cambria, and Carolyn; Sarah and her husband, Jay; seven cherished grandchildren; his siblings, John and his wife, Linda, and Marg and her husband, Gary.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bill, Jim, Earl, Richard, and Jerry; and his sisters, Janet and Shirley.

Terry E. Fenn

Terry E. Fenn, 92, of Davenport, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Per his wishes private family services were held. Burial was in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Terry was born on November 15, 1933 in New London, Iowa, a son of Paul and Sarah (Wellington) Fenn. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Waters on March 29, 1958.

Terry was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After his service he worked for Kings Material for over 54 years and earned the title of plant manager. Terry learned hard work at a young age and it stuck with him his entire life. He was an avid basketball and baseball player and regular at the YMCA. He was very active and running was his passion. He was also very loyal and always kind. He was good with his hands and had a knack for woodworking. Terry was always was on the sidelines cheering on his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and cherished the moments spent with them. He will be deeply missed.

Terri L. Hardy

Terri Lynn Hardy passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at MercyOne-Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

Funeral services to celebrate Terri’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. The service will be livestreamed by clicking the following link: HMD YOUTUBE Burial will follow at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At Terri’s request please wear something bright, colorful, and fun to celebrate her vibrant personality and the joy and light she brought to everyone around her. Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial fund for her daughters.

Terri Lynn Littlefield was born on December 13, 1973, in Davenport, the daughter of Thomas Joseph and Joyce Ann (Bultema) Littlefield. She graduated from Davenport West High School in 1992 and attended Western Illinois for three years before transferring and graduating from the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga with a degree in Business and Finance. When she was just seventeen, Terri was introduced to a young man named Damien Matthew Hardy. After dating for a few years, Terri was united in marriage to the love of her life, Damien, on May 26, 2001, at Christ Family Church in Bettendorf.

Terri has worked for the past fifteen years with Group O where she was the Accounting Manager. Prior to that she worked for the Rock Island Arsenal and Great Southern Bank.

Terri had a light about her that was impossible to miss. With her radiant smile, sparkle in her eye, and magnetic personality, she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. She was upbeat, positive, and full of life, who wanted her life to be celebrated rather than mourned. Terri was a friend to all and often the life of the party—or the one making sure the party kept going. She loved a good gossip session with her daughters, cherished time with family and friends, especially her “Bunco Girls” and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Her heart was simply full of love, and she opened her home and her heart to her children’s friends, including Dylan Balthazer and Mia Molina, who became especially close to her. And, in true Terri fashion, she found great joy in a good spreadsheet—because if it could be organized, color-coded, or kept track of, Terri was probably going to do it.

Those left to honor Terri’s memory are her husband, Damien, daughters, Isobel Hardy, both of Davenport and Gabrielle “Gabs” (fiancé, Raleigh Wilson), Oswego, Illinois; mother, Joyce Littlefield, Chattanooga, Tennessee; brother, Mark Littlefield, Fort O., Georgia; niece, Callie Littlefield, Georgia; mother-in-law, Julianne Hardy, Davenport; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Greg (Tammy) Hardy, Georgia, Mark (Michelle) Stelken, Dubuque, Phillip (Linda) Hardy, Alabama, Monica Hayes, Bettendorf, Bridget (John) Stoecker, Texas, Aaron (Vanessa) Hardy, Davenport, Anita (Blake) Hamann, Colorado, Andrew (Stephanie) Hardy, Kansas, as well as countless nieces and nephews who adored her for being their favorite aunt—the one who brought the most laughter, love, and a whole lot of s***k to every gathering.

Terri was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Littlefield, her father-in-law, Hiram Hardy, a brother-in-law, Christopher Hardy, her maternal grandparents who she was very close to, Harold and Laverne Bultema.

Terri’s family would like to thank MercyOne Genesis Medical Team and the employees of the coffee shop there for all the incredible care & support they provided. During Terri’s last weekend on Earth, she had a heck of a non-stop party in her room with all the loved ones and friends sharing memories with her and indulging in her favorite foods. She will be so profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gerald Howard Miller

Mass of Christian Burial for Gerald Howard Miller, 92, of Bettendorf, will be Monday, August 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. Visitation will precede the mass in the Cathedral gathering space at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, following the funeral. The mass will be live-streamed and a link can be found on the Sacred Heart Cathedral website on their YouTube channel. Gerald passed away Monday, August 24, in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Ridgecrest Village or Empowering Abilities, Davenport.

Gerald H. Miller was born June 6, 1934, in Davenport, IA, the son of Edward and Vivian (Schultz) Miller. He married Patricia D. Porter on June 22, 1957. They were married 65 years. He was a 1952 graduate of St. Ambrose Academy, Davenport. Gerald graduated from the University of Illinois, with Honors, with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He was a member of the University of Illinois Gargoyles Architecture Honors Society. After graduating, he worked for Louis C. Kingscott & Associates, Davenport. In 1961, he joined Camiel F. Bracke and Francis J. Hayes and formed the architecture firm of Bracke-Hayes-Miller, Architects, in Moline, where he was a partner until his retirement in 1999.

He and his wife were founding members of St. John Vianney Parish, Bettendorf. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and attended the National Jamboree in 1950. He was a Troop Master for many years. He enjoyed history, sailing, militaria, travel, gardening, and watching golf tournaments and football games. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family. He and Pat successfully raised three wonderful children!

Gerald is survived by his children Mark D. (Judy) Miller, Davenport, Lisa D. (Michael) Romanowski, Golden, CO, and Matthew J. (Krista) Miller, Frisco, CO; grandchildren Elliot Miller and Colin Miller, Bettendorf, Ian Miller, St. Louis, MO, Taylor (Travis) Toms, Golden, CO, Harrison Romanowski, San Diego, CA, Rylan Miller, Loveland, CO, and Raina Miller, Walnut Creek, CA; great-grandson, Heron Toms and great-granddaughter, Rosemary Toms, both of Golden, CO; and brother, Gregory (Patricia) Miller, Valencia, CA; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Donna Jean Mitchell

Donna Jean Mitchell, 81, of Bettendorf, and formerly of Dubuque and Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. A visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, August 31, at the St. Joan of Arc Parish, Vianney Campus in Bettendorf. A funeral Mass will follow at 11am. An inurnment is planned for 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 1, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

Donna Jean Frick was born July 24, 1945, in Dubuque, Iowa, a daughter of Arthur Frick and Sara McKernan Frick. She graduated from Wahlert High School in 1963, and spent most of her professional career as a bookkeeper at AEGON (now Transamerica) in Cedar Rapids. Located only 5 minutes from her house, her job gave her the flexibility to manage her household while working full-time.

Donna was united in marriage to Michael Patrick Mitchell on December 29, 1972, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque, just across the street from her childhood home. The two shared nearly 50 beautiful years of marriage before his passing in 2022. Donna and Mike had one child, daughter Michelle Lynn, who was the joy of their lives. Donna spent countless hours at swim lessons, dance lessons, basketball camps, and in Czech Village for accordion lessons during Michelle’s early years. That time was eventually replaced by any activity she could do with or while supporting her three grandsons.

An avid sports fan, Donna especially liked college football (go Cyclones!), college basketball, and NASCAR. She and Mike held season tickets to Iowa women’s basketball for decades, enjoying the sport long before the sold-out arenas of recent years. She was most happy close to home, possibly why she didn’t get her driver’s license until well into her 20s, but especially enjoyed exploring the New England area when newly married, visiting Hawaii for her 25th wedding anniversary, and time spent at Frentress Lake with her parents and siblings as a child.

Donna had a signature smile right up to the very end. While health challenges made her later years difficult, she never complained. She modeled inner strength and perseverance each and every day, and brought joy to her family she loved so dearly. She is finally at peace and reunited with Mike in heaven.

Donna’s family was her everything. Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Cory St. Germain; her three cherished grandsons, Easton, Mitchell, and Rowan St. Germain, all of Bettendorf; sisters Kay (Denny) Pfeiffer of Dubuque and Pat (Steve) Wehrle of Iowa City, brother Larry (Diane Theisen) Frick of Dubuque, Godson Doug (Lizzie) Pfeiffer of Oswego, IL, and numerous Frick and Mitchell extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, sister Sally Frick, and sister-in-law Deanna Mitchell.

Donna's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff and residents at The Fountains of Bettendorf for the care, friendship, and community offered to Donna over the last four years. Also a big thank you to the staff at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their compassionate care of Donna in her final weeks.

Dolores E. Tracy

Dolores E. Tracy, 96, of Davenport, died Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Kahl Home, Davenport. At her request, no visitation or services will be held. Her remains were donated to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City for medical research. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home of Davenport will oversee all arrangements. She will ultimately be laid to rest at Holy Family Cemetery in Davenport.

Dolores Evelyn Witt was born on April 3rd, 1930, in Davenport to Charles J. and Theresa (Siegel) Witt. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1948, became a licensed cosmetologist, and became employed by the former Petersen-Harned-Von Maur “Powder Box” Salon for over 4 years. At the same time, she was an operative vocalist and sang in many local productions. She appeared regularly on the WOC-TV show “Candlelight Cameos” for 1 ½ years, alongside piano accompanist Marjorie Meinert. Still in her family’s possession are professionally produced vinyl recordings of her vocal performances.

Dolores married Denzil O. Tracy of Maquoketa, IA in 1954, wherein she became the incredibly loving, stay-at-home mother of three as well as copreneur of her husband’s chiropractic practices. Dolores continued her musical talents participating in church choir, singing at weddings, funerals, and community events. Upon graduating as a cosmetologist, Dolores maintained the hair of all family members through the years and expansion of the family. She even did some trimming of hair on a resident at the Kahl Home at age 95. Denzil passed in 1980 after practicing 18 years as a chiropractor in Kentucky and Indiana. After returning home to Davenport, she retired in 1995 after 15 years as secretary/bookkeeper in several local firms. Dearest to her heart was her family, music, and animals.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and sister Nancy (Witt) Bosco. Survivors include her children: daughter Denise Tracy of Davenport, son Stephen (Holly) Tracy of Newtown, Ohio, and son Spencer (Angi) Tracy of Davenport. Grandchildren: Cari Martin, Ryan (Tammy) Soucie, Cassie (Derek) Roorda, and Shelby (Courtney) Long. Great-grandchildren: Lauren Snyder, Alan Soucie, Jayden Carlson, Parker Long, Finnick Roorda, Wesley Roorda, and Beckett Roorda. She is also survived by brother-in-law Robert Bosco Sr. and his family, as well as brother-in-law Dylon Tracy and his family.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City, IA, the Humane Society of Scott County, and King’s Harvest Pet Rescue of Davenport.

Rose Marie (Matthys) Quattrocchi

Rosie (Matthys) Quattrocchi, 85, of Columbus, NE, and formerly of Davenport, IA, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2026 at Brookstone Acres in Columbus.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2026, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Columbus. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place on Friday, August 28, at 3:00 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery in Omaha, NE.

Rosie was born August 1, 1941 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Bernard and Agnes Matthys. Rosie attended Creighton University where she met her husband of 61 years, Dr. Joe Quattrocchi. She touched many lives through teaching kindergarten and English in Columbus for more than 25 years. Rosie poured her heart and soul into each and every day she was in the classroom.

Rosie’s greatest joy and passion in life revolved around her grandchildren, children, and her husband, “Her Joe”. She loved being around people and family, and always saw the best in everyone she met. Her beautiful smile was contagious.

Rosie is survived by her husband, Joe; her children Mike (Barb) Quattrocchi of Omaha, Michelle (Dan) Kiesel of Lincoln, NE, and Joe (Vickie) Quattrocchi of Omaha, Donna (Joe) O’Brien of Des Moines, IA; Her 12 grandchildren who all knew her as “Pootsie”; and her brothers and sisters, Bernie (Barb) Matthys of Chicago, Don (Gale) Matthys of Nolensville, TN; Bob (Linda) Matthys of Davenport; Mary Ann (Bill) Bindley of Naples, FL; Paul (Mary Kay) Matthys of Nashville, TN; Joe (Tara) Matthys of Des Moines, WA.
