How many of you can say you havent had processed sugar yet today....not me 😑.
I caved and had a cold brew w/cold foam from a coffee shop 🤷♀️🤦♀️
One wouldnt think this isnt that bad right?
WRONG!
I just got 17g of refined sugars, probably mold from coffee beans and heavy metals from unfiltered water...
Reasons i make my own cold brew:
1. I want clean, fresh coffee. Mass produced ☕️ beans are a common source of mold!
2. I want filtered clean water. Do you know what kind of water your coffee is brewed in? Most water has trace "safe" 😆 amounts of lead, arsenic, and other heavy metals that accumulate in you 🤢
3. I want natural sugars in my cold foam. Cold foam flavoring has 17g of processed refined sugar. 😵
Here's how i make it:
- 2 cups organic, fresh whole beans ground coarse.
- 6 cups filtered water.
- place together in mason jar and leave on counter for 15-24 hours.
- strain grounds from coffee brew concentrate
- mix 1:1 ratio of water to coffee brew concentrate in ice.
Cold foam:
- make vanilla simple syrup...1/2 cup local honey with 1/2 cup filtered water warmed up to dissolve well then add 1-2 tbsp vnilla extract, mix well and store in mason jar.
- in frother, add 1/4 cup ish of organic whipping cream and 1tbs of your simple syrup, whip it up!
- pour over iced cold brew ☕️ 😉
