TRUE OR FALSE: If your elbow clicks, it's nothing to worry about. 🧐

FALSE.

While occasional elbow clicking without pain can be normal, persistent clicking, popping, catching, or a feeling that your elbow is unstable may be a sign of an underlying issue.

Symptoms of elbow instability can include:

• Clicking or popping sensations
• Catching or locking of the joint
• Pain during activity
• A feeling that the elbow may "give out"

These symptoms can develop after an injury or from repetitive stress on the elbow.

If your elbow clicking is frequent, painful, or accompanied by instability, give us a call and have it evaluated by one of our specialists!

Tell us: Have you ever experienced clicking in your elbow?

Summer is in full swing and so are sports injuries.

From pickup basketball and pickleball to swimming, golf, and weekend tournaments, we love seeing our community stay active. But every summer, we treat a spike in sprains, strains, overuse injuries, and heat-related setbacks that could have been prevented.

A few tips from our team to keep you in the game:
• Warm up first. Cold muscles are injury-prone muscles—even five minutes of light movement makes a difference.
• Hydrate before you're thirsty. Dehydrated muscles cramp and fatigue faster, increasing injury risk.
• Ease into new activities. Trying pickleball for the first time? Ramp up gradually—sudden spikes in activity are a leading cause of overuse injuries.
• Don't play through pain. Soreness fades with rest. Pain that lingers, swells, or sharpens is your body asking for attention.
• Wear the right shoes. Court shoes for court sports, running shoes for running. Your ankles and knees will thank you.

If a summer injury does sideline you, don't wait it out and hope for the best. Early evaluation means faster recovery and a quicker return to the activities you love.

We’re here if you need us! Schedule an appointment by calling (563) 447-9506.
