June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

Too many men suffer in silence because they’ve been taught that asking for help is weakness.

At Visions of Hope Mental Health Services, we believe healing starts with honest conversations and the courage to reach out.

Whether you’re struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions, support is available.

The recent hurricane has left many dealing with not only physical damage but emotional and mental strain. Natural disasters like this can trigger feelings of fear, anxiety, and grief—sometimes long after the storm has passed.

If you or someone you know is struggling with the aftermath, here are a few things to keep in mind:

October 11th is Black Girl Day Off 🌸

On this day, we as Black women are encouraged to take a mental day off and prioritize our emotional well-being. It’s a time to rest, recharge, and focus on self-care because we deserve it. Take this moment for yourself—you’ve earned it. 💜

Today we honor World Mental Health Day, a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health. This year’s theme, “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right”, encourages us to reflect on how we can support one another and ensure that care is accessible to everyone.

With over 20 years of experience in supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses, my therapeutic approach blends the skills I’ve refined through diverse professional and volunteer roles with my academic background, including a degree in religious studies. This allows me to provide a personalized, person-centered approach tailored to each client’s unique needs.
My passion for therapy stems from my desire to make a meaningful impact in others’ lives. Having faced trauma myself, I understand the importance of therapy as part of the healing journey. I’ve been active in educating community leaders and religious groups about mental health, helping to dismantle stigmas and misconceptions.
As a woman of color, I am dedicated to empowering other women, providing the support they need to build strength and resilience. As a mother of five, I aim to instill empathy and understanding in my children toward the individuals I work so hard to represent. To me, therapy is about more than just healing—it’s about creating lasting, positive change for those seeking empowerment.
