September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month🩵
Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed in its later stages because early symptoms can be subtle and easily overlooked. Recognizing the signs and understanding your risk can save lives. The earlier ovarian cancer is detected and treated, the better the outcome.

🔍 Know the Risk Factors:
▪ All women are at risk
▪ Family or personal history of ovarian, breast, or colon cancer
▪ Genetic predisposition
▪ Increasing age
▪ Infertility
▪ Vague but persistent symptoms (bloating, pelvic pain, frequent urination, etc.)
▪ Important: A Pap test does NOT detect ovarian cancer — it screens for cervical cancer.

Available Tests for High-Risk Women:
▪ Pelvic exam
▪ Transvaginal ultrasound
▪ CA-125 blood test

While there's no routine screening for ovarian cancer, staying informed and proactive can make all the difference.

Today we are celebrating a very special milestone for Dr. Briana Barclay, 20 years with The Group! 💜

Dr. Barclay joined The Group in 2006 after completing her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. An Iowa native and University of Iowa graduate, she has spent the past two decades caring for women throughout every stage of life and building lasting relationships with generations of patients and families.

For 20 years, Dr. Barclay has brought her knowledge, compassion, dedication, and genuine commitment to women’s health to our patients and our team. We are incredibly grateful for the impact she has made at The Group and throughout our community.

We loved being part of the Quad Cities Birth Fair! 💜🤰🏽👶🏼

Our Group midwives Amelia and Beth, along with Kasie, RDMS, from Hello Baby at The Group, spent the day connecting with families, answering questions, and sharing more about the pregnancy, birth, and ultrasound services available at The Group!

We’re also proud to support an event connected to QC Doula Connect Cares, an organization dedicated to providing compassionate support, education, and resources to families navigating difficult pregnancies, infant loss, and bereavement birth. Their work helps ensure families in our community have support through every kind of birth story.

Today, The Group team had fun celebrating and honoring the one and only Dolly Parton! 🎶✨

Beyond the hair, rhinestones, unforgettable music, and larger-than-life personality, Dolly spent decades using her platform to make a difference. She was a longtime champion for women, children, education, literacy, and communities in need, including inspiring a love of reading in millions of children through her Imagination Library. 📚💕

That is definitely something worth celebrating!
