Finally got my hands on Volt V2 (for atrial fibrillation ablation)! Great experience this morning with a quick PVI directly visualized with left-sided ICE. Full integration and single catheter workflow on the Ensite C system. E-fields gave a whole new level of accurate lesion location. Excited to see Abbottā€™s back in the race. Letā€™s see how workflow changes once we integrate ICE in the game. Thank you to all the EP Lab team and Abbott for a successful first Volt case.

On Monday, 5/4, the %Abbott leadless pacemaker was successfully implanted in a patient with a 6-year-old traditional dual-chamber pacing system complicated by chronic pocket painā€”significantly impacting her career as a professional musician.

The case evolved into an impromptu extraction of both transvenous leads, followed by successful transition to a fully leadless synchronized pacing system.

A first-of-its-kind procedure at HCA Florida University Hospital with an outstanding outcome: the patient is now pain-free and back to doing what she loves.

May 31st 2024: Dr Awais Humayun + HCA Florida University Hospital celebrate the opening of the new HCA Florida University Hospital Electrophysiology (EP) Lab!

HCA Florida University Hospital is the first in the country to adopt new technology for its EP lab, allowing physicians to perform life-improving treatments with accuracy and effectiveness. The technology supports precise and predictable motion through its laser-guided positioning and provides stunning details regardless of patient size.

"The opening of our EP Lab marks a significant milestone in the expansion of our cardiology services. In this new lab, our cardiologists will be able to perform a variety of diagnostic tests and procedures to treat heart conditions caused by abnormal heart rhythms. The procedures include the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, in addition to ablation procedures, among others. Patients who undergo cardiac ablation procedures often experience a significant reduction in arrhythmia episodes and symptoms, with many being able to return home the same day following their procedure. This is an exciting time for HCA Florida University Hospital, as our patients can now receive advanced cardiac electrophysiology care close to home and will not have to travel far to get these services," said Dr. Veronica McCloskey, Chief Medical Officer at HCA Florida University Hospital.
