Check out what some of our participants are saying as they go through my latest online course, Rewiring Home: Your 6-week Journey towards Consciousness Intelligence™.

The course is not only for parents or neurodivergent individuals. It’s also not your typical “regulation” course. We are applying the latest brain-based scientific research to really understand the meaning AND application of buzzwords such as “co-regulation” and “nervous system attunement”. These are real scientific terms with specific definitions.

Rewiring Home is for anyone who wants to clear up the confusion and get solid answers/ daily practices. If you’re interested in honing your brain’s health and maintaining your human advantage in a time of increasing technology, check out the website and learn more. Our next Cohort will be Fall 2026.

Did you hear that the Pope just released an encyclical critiquing A.I. recently? I am so glad to see other people talking about the importance of remaining human amidst the A.I. wave.

The question of how to use emerging technologies, how to protect our neurodevelopmental skills while we integrate them into our lives, and how to regulate these tools for our children/students/clients are all super salient lately.

In my new Rewiring Home course, I often speak about how to retain what I call “The Human Advantage”. My class is about building up our individual and collective CONSCIOUSNESS Intelligence™ in response to ARTIFICIAL Intelligence.

The future will change due to technology, but WE can shape how we use that technology.

Dr. Harper on A.I.: Ease vs. Efficiency

I am finally speaking on the topic that’s becoming ubiquitous in our workplaces, schools, and in everyday life. Artificial Intelligence is being pushed as a tool of efficiency for various tasks. However, there’s a difference between efficient and EASY.

Ease makes things happen faster, with less friction. THAT is actually what we are getting with A.I. tools. Let’s be honest, we all reach for the easy option when we can- especially in our modern, stressful world. I have no problem with people reaching for the easy route sometimes. Take a break.

The problem arises when we don’t notice how often we reach for high ease. We are becoming dependent on “frictionless” and losing our uniquely human abilities to adapt, learn, problem-solve, etc. The human brain is actually VERY efficient. I want you to notice how much you reach for the easy tools in everyday life. They can be helpful in the moment, don’t shame yourself for how often you may use them.

I want you to practice protecting those more human skills because we will need to be efficient about creativity, critical thinking, and decision-making in an increasingly complex future. Being able to THINK efficiently is a key skill to be prepared for the future.

“Pick your Battles” is AWFUL advice

The common phrase “Pick your Battles,” came up in my coaching session this week. Today’s is about why I cannot stand that phrase!

1. It incorrectly frames every don’t want situation as a battle to FIGHT, instead of simply a situation to respond to.
2. By “picking” certain “battles” over others, this phrase conditions you towards an avoidance pattern. What you avoid doesn’t go away; it persists and often grows into a bigger problem later.
3. It is a phrase that’s normalized as a justification for why we are not handling interpersonal conflicts and don’t want situations as they arise. People use this phrase AFTER they’ve already disconnected from a situation to make themselves feel better.

Instead of “pick your battles”, I want all my community to reframe how you see don’t wants. It is NOT A FIGHT! It is a situation in front of you. You get to pause. You get to SEE the reality of the situation and CHANGE your response. You get to DO something different today. Don’t run an avoid and then explode pattern anymore.

Take the phrase “pick your battles” out of your vocabulary. And share this video so that others do too. Let’s STOP NORMALIZING this behavior together.

On Self-Worth (Part 2): What is your relationship to YOU?

This clip is a continuation of a recent session I had with my Level 1 Coaching Group, in which I was trying to help my clients understand a new perspective on self-worth.
The question at the core of the W.A.Y. model is “What is your relationship with yourself?”

Most people are not taught how to look internally in a meaningful way. We are often taught that people who have high self-confidence “look great” on the outside. We see people with the best outfit, the best car, the best job, etc., and think they must be so confident. However, self-worth and self-confidence come from inside. There’s no specific way one looks. Instead, it’s about how you FEEL when nothing is going as planned, and you’ve messed up, and life isn’t perfect.

How do you speak to yourself in those moments? Have you taken the time to invest in your internal world? Your internal work doesn’t have to be bubble baths and journaling if that doesn’t resonate with you. Whatever you do, it MUST result in meaningful analysis of your thoughts and feelings without judging yourself. That is how you build up lasting self-confidence that doesn’t waver when life hits you with large don’t wants.
