At Supportive Engagement, we believe that every human life has value, every child deserves to feel safe, and every family deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, freedom, and peace.

Today, we are making our position clear.

Supportive Engagement stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people. We recognize and condemn what we believe to be the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

We cannot remain silent about the killing of civilians, the destruction of families and communities, starvation, forced displacement, and the suffering of countless children.

As mental health professionals, we understand that trauma does not end when the immediate danger passes. Children who have witnessed violence, lost their loved ones, or experienced the destruction of their homes may carry the psychological effects for years, sometimes generations.

But this is not simply a mental health crisis. It is a matter of human rights, human dignity, and the protection of human life.

Our commitment to trauma-informed care, inclusion, and advocacy does not end at the doors of our practice. We believe those values should extend to people experiencing unimaginable suffering, regardless of where they live.

We also want to be clear that our solidarity with Palestinians is not hostility toward Jewish people, Israeli civilians, or any religious or ethnic community. We reject antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, and discrimination in all forms.

Our clients, families, and clinicians come from different backgrounds and hold different perspectives. Every person who seeks care at Supportive Engagement will continue to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, regardless of their beliefs.

We stand for Palestinian freedom, justice, equality, and self-determination. We stand against genocide.

Because human rights are not conditional, and neither is our commitment to human dignity.

A different kind of Thanksgiving Break camp is here!

We’re excited to introduce Play Your Way Camp, a small, sensory-friendly recreational camp for children in K–5th grade. 💚

Before camp, each child will be screened so we can learn about their individual sensory preferences, needs, and interests. We’ll use that information to help plan activities, offer different ways to participate, and create smaller groups when appropriate.

Some kids need to MOVE. Some love to CREATE. Some enjoy sensory exploration. Others need a quiet space to reset.

At Play Your Way, there is no one “right” way to participate.

💙 THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN THE VISION 💙

This is not the update I (Jeymarie) hoped to share, but it is one I wanted to share with honesty, gratitude, and hope.

For quite some time, I've dreamed of creating a Neurodivergent Prom experience for teens who may not otherwise attend traditional prom due to sensory, social, emotional, physical, motor, accessibility, or other support needs. When the opportunity unexpectedly became available this April, I decided to take a leap of faith and make it happen.

Unfortunately, attendance did not reach the level needed to support the private venue experience we had envisioned, and Neurodivergent Prom 2026 will not move forward as planned.

While I am certainly disappointed, I am far more grateful than discouraged.

Thank you to every family, sponsor, donor, provider, volunteer, community partner, and friend who shared a flyer, made a connection, offered encouragement, donated resources, purchased a ticket, or simply believed in the vision. Your support reminded me just how many people care about creating more inclusive opportunities for our teens.

This year's event may not have happened, but the need still exists and the vision remains very much alive.

We will learn.
We will grow.
We will start earlier.
We will build stronger partnerships.
And we will come back stronger for Neurodivergent Prom 2027. 💙

Because every teen deserves opportunities to celebrate milestones, build connections, make memories, and experience a true sense of belonging.

Not every teen gets to experience prom in a way that feels safe, accessible, or truly inclusive.

While many teens will attend prom this year feeling excited and celebrated, some neurodivergent teens and teens with disabilities may experience traditional prom environments as overwhelming, isolating, inaccessible, or simply out of reach.

That’s why I, Jeymarie Guerra, LMHC, decided to create something different.

A neurodivergent-affirming prom experience rooted in:
• Inclusion
• Belonging
• Connection
• Celebration
• A space where teens can simply be themselves

To help keep the event sensory-considerate and supportive, attendance has intentionally been limited to just 50 teens, giving attendees private access to the entire Sky Zone Pembroke Pines venue and attractions throughout the night.
