🧴 Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and reapply often
🧢 Cover up with hats and protective clothing
⛱️ Seek shade, especially during the strongest rays of the day
🕶️ Protect little eyes with UV-blocking sunglasses

We're continuing our back-to-school series today by sharing tips and resources to help your family start the school year feeling prepared and confident.

🎒 Choosing the perfect backpack is a back-to-school tradition - but making sure it fits properly is just as important.

A backpack that’s too heavy or worn incorrectly can lead to shoulder, neck and back pain. To help keep kids comfortable and safe this school year:

✔️ Keep backpacks between 10–20% of your child’s body weight.

✔️ Choose a backpack with two wide, padded straps and multiple compartments.

✔️ Pack heavier items closest to your child’s back.

✔️ Encourage kids to use both shoulder straps and adjust them so the backpack sits snugly in the middle of their back.

✔️ Leave unnecessary items at home to lighten the load.

A few simple adjustments can help protect growing muscles and joints all year long. Visit our back-to-school hub for more expert tips: https://bit.ly/4bEZPEV

🐜 Bug bites are practically a summer rite of passage - but how do you know when an itchy bump is just a nuisance and when it's time to seek medical care?

Most bites can be treated at home with soap and water, a cold compress and anti-itch cream. But if your child develops severe swelling, dizziness, nausea, vomiting or a headache after a bite or sting, don't wait - seek medical attention right away.

A few simple habits can help keep bites to a minimum:
🦟 Use insect repellent
👖 Dress kids in lightweight long sleeves and pants when you can
✅ Check for ticks after outdoor adventures
🚫 Avoid standing water and other bug hotspots

Because summer memories should be about catching fireflies - not worrying about bug bites. 💙
