The hospital says she is ready to go home tomorrow. And suddenly, the family realizes they are not sure what that means. πŸ₯

This is one of the most common moments that brings families to us. And here is what matters most: nearly one in five older adults is readmitted to the hospital within 30 days of discharge, and most of those readmissions are caused by gaps in daily support at home, not medical complications.

We can step in quickly. Meals, medication reminders, personal care, transportation to follow-up appointments, companionship, safety oversight. Everything the transition home actually needs.

Recovery feels different when you are not walking it alone.

If a discharge is coming up - tomorrow, next week, or soon, call us now at 937-870-2015. We move quickly. πŸ“²

After nearly 13 years in this work, people still ask Kelly George, our owner, what keeps her going.

Her answer is simple: her team. πŸ’œ

They don't just make the job easier. They make the mission possible.

To each of them: thank you for being the heartbeat of Touching Hearts at Home, Dayton-Springfield. We see you and we are so grateful. πŸŽ‰

If you want care backed by a team this dedicated, we'd love to talk. Call us today at 937-870-2015. πŸ“²

Personal care is the most intimate service we provide. And because of that, it is the one we approach with the most patience, respect, and care. πŸ’œ

Bathing, grooming, dressing, transfers, done well, these moments preserve dignity and support independence. Done poorly, they diminish both.

At Touching Hearts at Home, how we provide personal care is just as important as the care itself. Every plan is built around the individual, their needs, their preferences, and their right to feel respected in their own home.

Swipe to see what that actually looks like.

There is something about fall in the Miami Valley that just feels like home.

The leaves at Cox Arboretum. A drive down a neighborhood street in Kettering when everything has turned. Pumpkins on porches in Centerville. That first week when the air finally has that edge to it.

We love this season. And so do a lot of the people we get to spend time with every week. 🧑

Happy fall, Dayton. We are grateful to be part of this community year-round.

The biggest mental health challenge facing older adults right now does not show up on any medication list. It shows up in the quiet. πŸ’œ

The U.S. Surgeon General called loneliness a public health crisis, with health risks comparable to smoking 15 ci******es a day. For seniors who go days or weeks without meaningful face-to-face connection, the effects accumulate quietly: rising anxiety, declining cognitive function, a growing sense that the world has stopped noticing them.

Connection is not a luxury in aging. It is essential.

On World Mental Health Day, we want to say that clearly. And we want families to know there is something they can do about it.

When people hear "companion care," they picture someone sitting quietly in the corner. That is not even close to what it actually looks like. 😊

It looks like a real conversation with someone who actually knows you. A walk around the block in Kettering. A card game on a Tuesday that turns into two hours because neither of them wanted to stop. An errand that becomes a real outing β€” a coffee stop, a slow drive through a neighborhood they love.

Companion care reduces loneliness, supports mental health, and keeps older adults genuinely engaged in daily life. Swipe to see what it really looks like.

Call us at 937-870-2015 β€” let's find the right care partner for your loved one. πŸ“²

PT does incredible work. But the progress it builds can unravel quickly when there is no support in place once those sessions end. πŸ₯

When physical therapy wraps up, the clinical piece is finished. But the person recovering is still returning to a daily routine that may have changed. Steadier than before, yes. But still cautious on stairs. Still unsure about certain transfers. Not quite ready to manage everything alone.

That is exactly where we come in.

Our care partners help with the everyday things that make recovery sustainable at home, walking safely, getting dressed without rushing, preparing meals, and simply having a steady presence nearby during the hours when someone might otherwise push too hard or feel anxious alone.

PT builds the foundation. In-home care helps people live on it.

Birthdays and work anniversaries this month for some of our favorite people on this team.

October belongs to them. The ones who walk through someone's front door every week and make it feel a little less like a job and a little more like home.

This team shows up with patience, warmth, and genuine care, not because it's easy, but because they know how much it matters.

We are so grateful for each of you. Happy birthday and happy work anniversary. We're lucky to have you here. πŸŽ‰
