It’s essential to remember that sinus infections can be acute (short-term, lasting 2–4 weeks) or chronic (persisting for 12 weeks or more). To keep comfortable at home, some use a warm, moist washcloth as a compress, a humidifier to moisten the air, plenty of water to stay hydrated, and sleeping with the head elevated.

If symptoms persist or keep returning, an ENT visit can help you figure out the cause and the best treatment path.

Men are twice as likely to experience hearing loss as women, and twice as likely to let it go unchecked. June is Men's Health Month, which makes it a good time to actually do something about it.

“What makes you different than the audiologist down the street?”

Today, Dr. McGuire was asked this question by a patient who was shopping around for hearing healthcare options.

Dr. McGuire paused for a moment, slightly caught off guard, and then answered from the heart.

“Thank you for asking that question. At The McGuire Hearing Center, you are our priority.
You will never be without sound. If your hearing aids need to be sent in for repair, we’ll fit and program loaner devices so you can continue hearing your best.
I own this practice, and if something isn’t right, I will make it right. Our entire team genuinely cares about our patients and is passionate about what we do. I’ve trained our front office staff to troubleshoot and repair hearing aids, and Ashley is absolutely amazing.
Also, I grew up in a family affected by hearing loss. I understand the challenges, frustrations, and emotions that can come with it. I can empathize with what our patients experience, and I am committed to helping them find the best solution for their unique hearing needs.
Choosing an audiologist is about much more than choosing a hearing aid. It’s about choosing someone who will listen, guide, educate, and stand beside you throughout your hearing journey.”

We’re excited to share that this patient chose The McGuire Hearing Center, and we look forward to helping them hear better for years to come!

There is so much that goes into determining the right hearing solution. Sometimes hearing aids are the best answer, and sometimes they aren’t. That’s why comprehensive testing, counseling, and individualized care matter.

Our audiologists are here to help!!

You don’t always need a hearing aid…

Sometimes you just need THIS removed. 👀👂

Patient came in reporting a change in hearing. The culprit? Impacted ear wax.

A safe removal later, and they were hearing like themselves again. Would you have guessed that ear wax could cause this much trouble?

Keep things cool this summer, especially for your hearing aids!

Remember to avoid leaving them in hot places like cars or direct sunlight. Extreme heat can damage the delicate electronics inside. Ensure that you keep your hearing aids safe and sound, even if the temperature soars!
