FREE EVENT!!! They did however miss listing the Huber Heights Marching Warriors will be preforming at 6pm in the gym. The event will have a few food trucks if you'd like to purchase a drink, snack or other food items. Tons of emergency vehicles will be there from police vehicles, fire trucks and different swat vehicles as well. Lots of things to do and see so come on out and enjoy an evening of family fun.

Today a group of individuals attended the DD Pride Rally in downtown Dayton. We enjoyed listening to different guest speakers and catching up with friends we've not seen in a while.

I wish I would have been able to get more pictures of the individuals making a airdry clay starfish, but I had messy hands at the time. I did manage to snap these two pics of these two painting their starfish. The past few weeks we've been learning about different animals in the ocean and of course you have to have a fun craft to accompany your lesson.

Individuals chose to go to Freddy's for lunch. We had a group go yesterday and another group went today. The few times we've been there the staff have been so kind, and an older gentleman has come over talking to each individual. Some individuals asked the Freddy's staff different questions about the food, and he was patiently answering all their questions.

Some of our friends in the rec group worked on painting patriotic flower pots and wooden stars that they found online that they requested. A lot of our crafts that are found online by individuals when we work on our monthly in house activity calendar together. Sometimes staff get sent links and pictures to crafts outside of work hours when one of them come across something that they'd like to do and add to the calendar. We love that our individuals we serve get so involved in helping plan our monthly calendar.

The front group worked on some puzzles and color sorting last week.

Since we all seem to love Disney here at Marimart and fish we decided to make our own pet fish in a bag like Darla had in the movie Finding Nemo. We also tried a new art technic called "blow paint" to make cool designs. Individuals turned their blow paint creations into little monsters or some even resembled fish.

Last Tuesday individual's had fun participating in Disney trivia in the rec group.

During free time individuals in the rec group decided to practice tossing the football and the back group had their own little dance party. We try to empower each individual to make their own choices and having fun while doing it.
