All of our care is provided regardless of a family's ability to pay or insurance status. Since 1968, Shriners Children's Ohio has been delivering expert and life changing care to children and families with pediatric burns, pediatric plastic surgery needs, and complex wound and skin conditions. The hospital has become a top choice destination because of its expertise in treating these conditions. E

verything we do is designed to make children and their families feel at home. Our wraparound, comprehensive care is focused to meet the physical, functional, cosmetic, and social needs of our patients and families. Our entire hospital staff is a team of experts. We walk with the children and their families through their experience and every aspect of their care. We call this Love To The Rescue. Shriners Children's Ohio is one of only four freestanding hospitals in the country dedicated to the treatment of pediatric burns, and specializing in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Our physicians’ experience and expertise in pediatric burn treatment, cleft lip and palate, and plastic and reconstructive surgery makes Shriners Children's Ohio a first choice for care. Shriners Children's accepts patients for treatment based solely on a child’s medical needs, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Shriners Children's has a mission to:

- Provide the highest quality care to children with burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.
- Provide for the education of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct research to discover new knowledge that improves the quality of care and quality of life of children and families. This mission is carried out without regard to race, color, creed, s*x or sect, disability, national origin or ability of a patient or family to pay.

Our patient ambassador Kennedy got to throw out the first pitch at last night's Dayton Dragons game! ⚾

Her awesome throw was a great kickoff to the game, and to Celebration 2026! This weekend is all about celebrating Shriners Children's Ohio and thanking our Shriners for being such strong advocates for us in the community. Stay tuned for more photos from this fun weekend coming soon!

Go, Brynn, go!

Brynn was born with a condition called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC for short) and the Marfan syndrome genetic marker. Both affect the flexibility in her hips and legs. She has been coming to different Shriners Children's locations since she was just 2 weeks old, and we've loved seeing her grow into the silly, confident, and energetic six-year-old she is today!

It's not just our patients who are heading back to school this fall, our volunteers are too!

Mary has been a volunteer with our Child Life department for two years now. She just wrapped up a great summer with us and is getting ready to head back for her senior year as a Human Development & Family Services major at Indiana University.

Mary says she loves volunteering with Shriners Children's Ohio because of the experience seeing our Child Life specialists at work and the interactions with our amazing patients. See you next summer, Mary!

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer, call our HR department at 513-872-6142.

Mae brings new meaning to the "dog days of summer!" ☀️

Thirteen-year-old Andrew (along with several of our staff members!) got to spend some time with Mae earlier this month. Andrew came to see us after he was burned when gasoline was thrown onto a fire. On top of receiving our specialized care, we're glad Andrew was able to also get a little bit of love from Mae during his stay with us!

Let's get this Monday movin'! From throwing to jumping to running, there's no slowing down Levi!

It's been almost one year since nine-year-old Levi's injury, but this therapy visit shows the amazing progress he's made in that time. He took a short break from his pressure garments to spend time getting even stronger.

The best part? He's just as active at home! Mom says he's getting ready to put all of that athleticism to use and head back to the baseball diamond for fall ball. Good luck, Levi! ⚾

12-year-old "Mudcat" Mason shows us how he got that nickname! 🎣

His mom shared these pics of some of his recent catches on the water. That's one talented sportsman with a great smile to match!

We're so glad to be part of Mason's care journey as a cleft lip and palate patient, and love seeing him show off his contagious grin!

Check out the awesome moves on display from 10-year-old Alan and his occupational therapist, Lisa! The two kicked around a soccer ball to unwind after Alan finished a great therapy session.

Let's go Everett, let's go 👏👏

Seven-year-old Everett is one of our awesome cleft lip and palate patients. He's playing quarterback this season for his football team! 🏈 His mom says he's a year-round sports star with a full roster of football, soccer, and basketball. We love seeing our patients thrive on and off the field!
