The Healthy Start Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties is a non-profit organization striving to unite people and resources at the local level in order to meet needs of pregnant women, infants, young children and their families. The Healthy Start Coalition oversees the following programs within our community: Healthy Start, Healthy Families, MomCare, and Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR).

To***co Free Florida's “Why to Quit” campaign - a statewide storytelling initiative modeled after the CDC's Tips From Former Smokers campaign, is featuring real Floridians' experiences with tobacco-related illness and quitting.

They are looking for individuals who've quit smoking and are living with, or caring for a loved one with, a smoking-related condition such as cancer, COPD, heart disease, stroke, or pregnancy/postpartum complications linked to smoking.

Volusia County’s Community Assistance Division are distributing pool and door/window alarms to help keep children and families safe around water. 💧

These life-saving devices will be provided from 9 a.m. to noon, Sept. 4, at these locations:
Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave.
Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle

You can pick up an alarm free of charge while supplies last, limit one per household.

To be eligible for an alarm, individuals must be a Volusia County resident, at least 18 years old, and willing to sign a release and waiver form. Households that received a pool alarm from Volusia County in 2025 will be ineligible to receive an additional alarm.
