I'm so excited to officially begin seeing patients in Marathon and to have the opportunity to serve this wonderful community! đź’š

If you've been curious about that a more natural, root-cause approach to your health might be right for you, I'd love to meet you!

Join us for our Meet the Doctor Open House on Wednesday, August 12, from 6:00–8:00 PM at The Copper Mug Boutique!

During the evening, I'll share a brief introduction to who I am, what naturopathic medicine is, and how I approach helping patients uncover and address the root causes of chronic health concerns.

I'll also introduce you to the Carroll Method of Food Intolerance—a foundational part of my clinical practice—and explain why it has become one of my favorite dietary tools for helping patients restore their health for the inside out. The body is capable of incredible healing with the right foundation.

There will be educational handouts, time for questions, and an opportunity to learn more about the natural therapies I use, including nutrition, homeopathy, and homeopathic drainage.

Special Open House Offer! 🌿

For those interested after the talk, I'll be offering the Carroll Method of Food Intolerance for $297 (regularly $395), with additional immediate family members in the same household each $225.

✔️ Simple finger-stick sample
✔️ No uncomfortable blood draw
✔️ Report of findings in 1-2 days with a self-guided video review & supplemental handouts

I'll remain after my presentation for anyone who would like to take advantage of this special Open House introductory offer, and I'll stay as long as needed to accommodate everyone.

Payment: Cash, check, or credit card accepted (a processing fee applies to card payments).

Whether you're dealing with digestive concerns, fatigue, hormone imbalances, thyroid issues, food intolerances, autoimmune conditions, chronic pain, or you're simply looking for a more personalized approach to your health, this is the BEST place to start - as ALL things begin in the gut and come back to inflammation.

I can't wait to meet you and begin serving Marathon and the surrounding communities! đź’š

Mark your calendars! đź“…

We're excited to invite you to our Open House on Wednesday, August 12 from 6:00-8:00 PM at The Copper Mug Boutique!

Join us, Marathon Spine & Wellness and Dr. Whitney Cronin, ND - Holistic Home Health & Wellness, LLC for an evening of great conversation, food, beverages, and the chance to meet two local providers who are passionate about helping people feel their best.

If you've been putting off getting that nagging back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, plantar fasciitis, headaches, sciatica, sports injury, or another lingering issue checked out, this is a great opportunity to stop in and ask questions.

I'll also be doing something I almost never offer. FREE one-on-one consultations throughout the evening. No appointment, no pressure, just a chance to talk through what's been bothering you and whether we might be able to help.

While no one can accurately diagnose every condition in a 5-10 minute conversation, many people should leave with a much better understanding of what's going on. Sometimes it's obvious we can help, sometimes it's clear we should point you elsewhere, and other times the only way to know is with a proper evaluation and a trial of care.

Dr. Whitney will also be available to answer questions about naturopathic medicine, food intolerances, hormones, gut health, fatigue, thyroid concerns, and other natural health approaches.

Come for the food, stay for the conversation, and leave with a better understanding of your options. We look forward to meeting you!

Vermont Becomes First State in the Nation to Ban Paraquat Herbicide: Paraquat is widely used in commodity crop production such as corn, soybeans, and cotton as well as in the farming of conventional fruits, beans, nuts and other crops. Paraquat is also approved as a desiccant on some crops, including beans and potatoes. The toxic herbicide is linked to Parkinson’s disease, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and childhood leukemia. The largest manufacturer of paraquat is ChemChina-Syngenta (owned by China, headquarters in Switzerland) and is mostly produced in China, the UK, and Switzerland. But get this: these same countries have also banned the herbicide for use within their own borders. Syngenta, facing over 8,000 U.S. lawsuits alleging that its paraquat concoction, brand name Gramoxone, caused plaintiffs’ Parkinson’s disease, announced this year it would no longer sell the herbicide. Unfortunately, there are other pesticide manufacturers that are still producing paraquat.

The Guardian revealed many of Syngenta’s internal files on paraquat in 2022 and 2023. The files show the company employed an array of secretive tactics to hide or downplay research linking its chemical to Parkinson’s, discredit independent research and mislead or otherwise influence regulatory decisions to protect paraquat sales.

Cases of Parkinson’s have more than doubled in the last 25 years and continue to rise. Ray Dorsey, a neurologist who directs research into environmental causes of brain diseases at Atria Health and Research Institute, said Vermont’s action was “another step toward preventing this largely man-made disease”. He said that many countries had banned paraquat and said it “is long overdue for the U.S. to do the same.”

Even the U.S. EPA knows of the dangers of paraquat and states, “One sip can kill.” Yet the agency refuses to do anything. So when the agency responsible for protecting human and environmental health sits back, twiddling its thumbs, states must step up. THANK YOU, VERMONT. May your courage spread to other states.

✨ A Naturopathic Doctor Refresher ✨

With some exciting changes coming in July and plans to begin seeing patients at Marathon Spine & Wellness soon, I thought it might be a good time for a refresher on who I am, what I do, and what exactly a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) brings to your healthcare team.

Many people have heard the term "naturopathic doctor," but aren't entirely sure what it means.

My journey began with finishing up my Bachelor's Degree in Biology from UW–Stevens Point, followed by four years of full-time, in-person doctoral training at the National University of Health Sciences. There, I studied the principles and philosophy of naturopathic medicine alongside clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, laboratory assessment, physical medicine, and primary care medicine.

Today, I am licensed in both Wisconsin and Minnesota as a primary care trained Naturopathic Doctor, and have been helping patients resolve the root causes of health concerns for more than 12 years.

So what does that actually mean?

At the heart of naturopathic medicine is the belief that the body is designed to heal when given the right conditions and support.

Rather than asking only, "What can we take for this symptom or lab result?" I ask, "Why is this happening in the first place?"

A couple of my favorite analogies are:

🔥 If your house is filling with smoke, you can keep opening windows and turning on fans—but eventually you need to find out what's causing the fire.

🏡 Would you spend a ton of money putting a new roof, siding and windows on a house with a crumbling foundation?

That's what root-cause medicine is all about.

Whether it's digestive concerns, hormone imbalances, chronic inflammation, fatigue, recurring illness, food intolerances, stress, sleep challenges, or simply wanting to optimize your health, my goal is to identify the underlying factors that may be preventing your body from healing (and functioning) the way it was designed to. This is done through "The Therapeutic Order" -- the way in which your body's pathways to natural healing can be supported - from the foundation up.

While supplements can be valuable tools, true healing rarely comes from a bottle alone. It comes from understanding the factors that determine health: nutrition, food intolerances, digestion, sleep, stress, movement, environment, and lifestyle - these are called "The Determinants of Health", and if your current provider isn't helping you address these you're missing the biggest pieces to true root cause healing.

In other words, I don't just want to know what symptoms you have—I want to understand the whole story.

As many of you know, my own story has evolved too. After nearly 20 years in the Madison area, our family was blessed to move back to Northern Wisconsin last Summer. Between raising two busy boys, enjoying the outdoors, attempting to "homestead", and continuing my mission of helping people reconnect with natural health, I couldn't be more excited for this next chapter.

Over the coming weeks I'll be sharing more details about patient availability, scheduling, and how I'll be balancing in-person visits in Deforest, virtual care, and a new in-person location in Marathon.

Healthcare should be about more than managing symptoms and making labs "look good"—it should be about understanding the conditions that allow your body to not just heal, but to thrive. That's the heart of naturopathic medicine and the foundation of how I approach every patient.

Stay tuned—I'm excited for what's ahead! 🌿

After a year of searching for the right fit, I’m excited to finally share some news…

Moving my family back to the Northwoods last Summer was no doubt the best decision for my family, but finding the right professional home has taken time.

Over the past year since moving to the Wausau area, I’ve been searching for a place where I could put down roots, serve my community, and collaborate with providers who share my passion for helping patients address the true root causes of their health concerns and support their body’s self healing.

I’m excited to announce that beginning in July, I’ll be seeing patients at Marathon Spine & Wellness.

I’ll continue serving patients virtually and in DeForest, while expanding my ability to care for individuals and families in the Northwoods, closer to where I grew up in Rhinelander.

Thank you to Marathon Spine & Wellness for the warm welcome. I’m looking forward to this next chapter and all the opportunities ahead to support the health and wellness of our Northwoods community.

✨ The best is yet to come.

Welcome Dr. Whitney Cronin, ND! 🎉

We are excited to announce that Dr. Whitney Cronin, ND, will begin seeing patients right here inside Marathon Spine & Wellness in early July!

Dr. Whitney takes a whole-person approach to healthcare, helping patients navigate concerns related to:

🌱 Digestive health & food intolerances
🦋 Hormonal balance & thyroid function
⚡ Fatigue, stress, & autoimmune conditions
🔬 Lyme disease & chronic infections
👶 Infertility, skin health, & overall wellness

We help people move better, recover from injuries, and get back to doing the things they love. But how you sleep, recover, manage stress, and fuel your body can play a major role in how you feel and function.

That's what makes Dr. Whitney such a natural fit for what we're trying to build here.

When we decided to expand services within our clinic, we wanted to do it the right way by bringing in a provider with dedicated education, clinical training, and experience focused on helping people navigate complex health concerns.

Most importantly, we're excited to welcome a provider who shares our belief that great healthcare starts with listening, education, and genuinely caring about the people you serve.

Please join us in giving Dr. Whitney a warm welcome in the comments below! 👇

Costco Rotisserie Chicken is Served... With TWO Lawsuits! Costco is facing two separate class action lawsuits over its cheap $4.99 rotisserie chicken. The first lawsuit is over Costco's claim that its chickens contain “no preservatives” when in fact, it does: sodium phosphate and carrageenan. The second lawsuit is based on a report by the nonprofit Farm Forward showing Costco's Lincoln Premium Poultry plant in Fremont, Nebraska, "consistently fails USDA salmonella safety standards year after year" and that it sends "unsafe chickens to stores nationwide."

Costco is getting ROASTED.
