Robbie Winkles, 88, of De Leon, Texas peacefully passed away April 26, 2026. She was born July 31, 1937, in Downing, Texas to Henry Scott and Dovie Colcleasure Scott. Robbie married Bobby G. Winkles in 1955.

Robbie’s pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Until the end of her life, she would ask about each of them. Robbie wanted to be reassured they were all doing fine. One of her favorite things was to remind us that we would never stop worrying about our children and grandchildren “no matter how old they are”. She, along with Bobby Sr., kept the grandchildren often and the great grands as long as she was physically able. Most of her early life was spent as a homemaker. Bobby and Robbie were able to experience traveling after his retirement from the United States Postal Service. They loved to travel to Florida for the winters and stay as long as they could. She was a faithful caregiver to Bobby, along with Bobby Jr. and Roger’s help, until the end of his life. After Bobby’s passing, she moved to the housing unit apartments where she lived a full and independent life and made many dear friends.

Robbie is survived by her sons, Bobby G. Winkles, Jr., and Roger Winkles and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Brittany Rogers and husband, Clayton, Taner Winkles and wife, Katie, Mitch Winkles and wife, Kailey Sones, Chelsea Luna and husband, Luis, and Shaina Stone and husband, Miles; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Rogers, Havana Rogers, Heston Rogers, Clara Winkles, Eiley Winkles, Malcolm Winkles, Major Luna, Abraham Luna, Arabella Luna, Gentry Stone, and MJ Stone; sister, Peggy Lawson; brother, Benny Scott; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby G. Winkles, Sr.; daughter, Donna Kaye Winkles; parents, Henry and Dovie Colcleasure Scott; and brothers, Elward Scott, Billy Jack Scott, and Jimmy Scott.

In respect of her final wishes, Robbie will be laid to rest in Downing Cemetery beside Bobby and Donna in a private family committal.

The Winkles family would like to express their sincere and very heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at De Leon Nursing and Rehab. Also, the CCS Hospice for guidance during the last weeks of Robbie’s life. Robbie is a Christian and we know she entered the gates of Heaven with a healed body greeted by her Lord and Savior, and her loving family.
