Scout was perfectly happy just being snuggled up with Jordan today! 🐾

This adorable Australian Shepherd puppy is already winning hearts around here.

Australian Shepherds are intelligent, energetic, and incredibly loyal dogs. Despite their name, the breed was actually developed in the United States, where they were valued as hardworking herding dogs. They’re known for their beautiful coats, striking eyes, athleticism, and their strong desire to have a job to do.

Aussies tend to thrive with plenty of exercise, training, and mental stimulation. They also love being part of the family. But clearly, Scout knows there’s another important Aussie activity: snuggles! ❤️

We think Jordan was more than happy to help with that job today!

Any Sphynx lovers out there?

Meet Anubis! 🩶🤍 Isn’t he something?!

The Sphynx is famous for its nearly hairless appearance, but there’s much more to this unique breed than their adorable wrinkles and big ears! Sphynx cats are typically social, affectionate, curious, and incredibly people-oriented. They love being involved in whatever their humans are doing and are often described as little “velcro cats.”

And despite their lack of a traditional fur coat, Sphynx cats still need some special care. Their skin can accumulate oils, so regular bathing and skin care are important. They also tend to seek out warm, cozy places to keep comfortable.

Anubis certainly has the Sphynx look down! We loved having this handsome guy visit VivaVet💙🩵🩶

Happy National Working Parents Day!

Today we’re celebrating the three women behind VivaVet Medical Center and the fact that we’re not just business owners, veterinarians, and veterinary professionals…we’re working moms, too.

Dr. Theresa Jarvey, Jamie Koenig, and Blaire Hill-Morois have spent years building their careers while raising their families. We know firsthand that sometimes those two worlds overlap and we think that’s okay. ♥️

One of the things we love most about being a small, locally owned business is that we can create a workplace that welcomes our families, too. You may see our kids stopping in, lending a hand, getting a few extra pet snuggles, or simply being part of the VivaVet family.

Rabies is on the rise and your pet’s rabies vaccine matters.

Rabies may seem like something we don’t have to worry about, but it remains a real threat here in Wisconsin. Bats are now the most common rabies-positive wildlife species in our state, and domestic pets can be exposed through contact with infected wildlife.

Cats are especially important to keep vaccinated.
Why? Bats can find their way inside homes, and curious cats are naturally drawn to them. An encounter can happen before you even realize there’s a bat in your house.

Keeping your pets current on their rabies vaccination is one of the simplest and most important things you can do to protect them and your family. Wisconsin DHS recommends rabies vaccination for pet dogs, cats and ferrets.

If you find a bat in your home and there’s any possibility that your pet had contact with it, don’t assume there was no exposure just because you didn’t see a bite. Contact your veterinarian and local public health officials for guidance. Bat bites can be very small and may go unnoticed.

‼️Please check your pet’s vaccine records. If your dog or cat isn’t current on rabies, give us a call.

Seven little Frenchies are here!

Charlie, the sweetest French Bulldog, welcomed 7 healthy puppies this morning!

A big thank-you to Dr. Theresa for helping bring these little ones safely into the world with a C-section. Mom and puppies are doing great!

Stella was in today for her monthly Cytopoint injection, and she was an absolute rockstar!

This adorable Miniature Schnauzer handled her visit like a pro.

Did you know Miniature Schnauzers were originally bred in Germany as farm dogs and ratters? They’re intelligent, alert, energetic little dogs with a big personality packed into a small body. Their signature bushy eyebrows and beard give them that unmistakable Schnauzer look!

They’re known for being loyal, spirited, and very people-oriented, often keeping their families on their toes with their curious and confident personalities.
