We paid a lovely visit to Rock Springs Nature Center today, where we thoroughly enjoyed learning about the prairie ecosystem and how it has developed over many millennia. Their staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and full of knowledge. They even introduced us to Mr. Logan the turtle, who quickly became a favorite of the day!

There’s something special about spending time in nature, learning new things, and sharing those experiences with friends. Thank you to everyone at Rock Springs for making our visit so enjoyable and memorable! 🐢🌾💚

Physical activity is so important! We have a ton of fun in Life Enrichment, and that includes fun exercise routines! Our residents have recently started chair yoga, and they are absolutely loving it. It’s been wonderful to see their excitement and enthusiasm as they work on staying active, strong, and healthy. We are so proud of them for embracing new ways to care for their minds and bodies while having fun together! 💙🧘‍♀️✨

Music and dancing have a unique way of reaching parts of the brain that often remain connected even when other abilities begin to change. Music can spark memories, emotions, and feelings that have been tucked away for years. A familiar song can instantly transport someone back to a special moment, a favorite dance, a first love, or a cherished family gathering.

Dancing adds another layer of benefit by engaging both the mind and body. It encourages movement, coordination, balance, and social connection while releasing feel-good chemicals that can boost mood and reduce stress. For many people, especially older adults, dancing provides a sense of freedom, purpose, and joy that words sometimes cannot express.

Together, music and dancing create moments of connection—to memories, to other people, and to ourselves. They remind us that even when life changes, the ability to feel joy, love, rhythm, and belonging remains deeply rooted within us. That’s why a favorite song and a simple dance can do so much for both the memory and the soul. 💜

100, 90, 89, and 84 are all incredible milestones to achieve in life!

Yesterday afternoon, we celebrated not one, but FOUR amazing birthdays at The Carriages. With the help of Joe May and a few wonderful volunteers, we transformed our space for one of the most remarkable celebrations imaginable—Mary Alice’s 100th birthday! Reaching a century of life is something very few people in this world will ever experience, and we were honored to celebrate this extraordinary occasion with her.

We also want to recognize our other wonderful May birthday ladies: Betty, Darlene, and Jeanevea, who celebrated their 90th, 89th, and 84th birthdays. What a blessing it is to share these special moments with such amazing women!

Happy Birthday to each of you! We are so incredibly grateful to have been part of your celebrations and are thankful for the joy, wisdom, and love you bring to our Carriages family every day.

With love,

Your Carriages Family ❤️
