The Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation is proud to celebrate National CPR & AED Awareness Week, June 1–7, by investing in something that truly saves lives. ❤️

This year, the Foundation has purchased Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to help strengthen emergency response efforts and improve the health and safety of our community. Every second matters during a cardiac emergency, and access to an AED can mean the difference between life and death.

These devices are more than just equipment. They are a symbol of hope, preparedness, and our continued commitment to protecting the people of Morgan & Lawrence County. Because of generous support from our community, the Foundation is able to make meaningful investments that directly impact lives when it matters most.

Together, we are making lifesaving care more accessible — one heartbeat at a time. 💙

💚 Honoring Decades of Dedication - 2026 Service Awards Banquet!

Last week, we gathered at the beautiful DoubleTree Hotel to celebrate some of the most tenured members of the DMH family - team members marking milestone anniversaries from 10 to an extraordinary 45 years of service.

Every person in that room has given so much of themselves to our patients, our community and this organization. That kind of dedication is rare, and it deserves to be celebrated in a big way.

To every honoree - thank you. We are so proud and grateful for each of you. 💚

Yesterday afternoon, an individual was on the Decatur campus grounds carrying what was later identified as an unloaded BB gun and pointed it at a patient and her mother.

Our staff immediately contacted law enforcement, and officers responded quickly to the scene. The individual was stopped, and the BB gun was confiscated. While the individual was not taken into custody at that time, law enforcement remains actively engaged in the investigation and continues to pursue the case.

We are treating this incident with the utmost seriousness. We have alerted staff, reinforced safety and awareness protocols and added additional security personnel to DMH from the Huntsville campus.

The safety and security of our Employees, Patients, Visitors and Community remain our highest priority. We are grateful for the swift response of our team and local law enforcement and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
