1.30.26

We are opening our doors for a Community Care Day this Friday, 1-4 pm.

This is a space for those choosing not to go to school or work, for those holding big feelings, and for anyone in need of solace and connection.

Come as you are.

We will have mini reiki sessions, sound healing, acupressure, tea, connection… and space to SCREAM!

We believe care is a vital part of the work for justice. Come find sustenance and solidarity with us.

This is a free offering. Donations gratefully accepted to support our practitioners and future care days.

Caring is resistance.

Community is crucial.

It’s been awhile, but I am finally opening up my acupuncture schedule a bit and taking new patients. In the 14 years I’ve been slinging needles, I’ve learned a lot about what I’m passionate about and how I work.

In Chinese medicine there is a saying, “Treat the roots, not the branches.” This is a key notion in the Five Element Tradition, which is rooted in the observance of nature and how our bodies are merely reflections of the earth itself. I have found my niche is working on the deep emotional and spiritual components of illness and pain, rather than focusing on the physical symptoms. I am not one to use quick fix protocols and tools.

My sessions have evolved into an alchemical blend combining the acupuncture with stones, reiki, and even sound healing. Sometimes we might pull cards. Each session is unique.

When choosing a practitioner of any type, whether it be an MD, chiropractor, energy worker, etc, it’s incredibly important to find one you connect with. No one person is the best fit for everyone (even if they say otherwise).

I know my sessions won’t resonate with everyone, and that’s ok. There are many wonderful acupuncturists around, and I’m happy to recommend some!

To read more about my journey to acupuncture and about me, click the link in the bio (or the website) and feel free to ask questions. As many of you know, I can and will talk nonstop about the 5 elements when given the chance.

The human body is a microcosm of the earth. Our bodies experience the shifts of the seasons and the stars, just as the earth does.

Acupuncture meridians follow the body’s topography, similar to how rivers, streams, and veins of minerals flow on the earth.

Acupuncture points lie along these channels and are places where energy pools, much like an eddy swirls near a rock in a river.
The earth has acupuncture points, too. Places where energy has gathered. Places where sacred temples now stand, healing waters bubble up, and mountains stand tall.

I place stones on acupuncture points on the body to aid in healing, growth, and evolution.

I place stones on the earth points to do the same.

As I have worked less with human bodies these past 6 months, I have felt the pull to work the earth points even more. Building grids and leaving stones in places that need deep healing. Places desperate to heal from painful events, and places that are desperate for their true history to finally be revealed. There are so many places in Georgia calling out for this assistance.

When we work to heal the earth-we also work to heal ourselves. And when we work to heal ourselves-we also heal the earth. We are intertwined in unimaginable ways.

Last week I virtually immersed myself in a three day experience with Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th generation Daoist priest.

His words reach deep down to my soul. No matter the subject matter (this was discussing the spirit of the acupuncture meridians), his teachings are rich with gems such as these quotes.

“To have miracles, you have to ask yourself: ‘Do I believe in miracles?’ DO YOU BELIEVE IN ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES? Why pray for miracles if you don’t believe in them?”

Sit with that. There’s more here than what appears on the surface. Continue to be open. Continue to have faith. Continue to have hope.

Do you believe in miracles?

I’ve written and rewritten this post half a dozen times now.

My teacher and friend, Sarah Thomas, asked me to be an affiliate for her stone medicine course, Enter the Cave, and I have had a hard time finding the right words to promote it. Because the truth is, there are no words to describe how much studying with Sarah has meant to me.

I could use the words “life-changing”, “mind-blowing”, “enriching”, and “transformational”, and although true, these descriptions still don’t fully capture what I want to say.

I discovered Sarah’s classes many years ago and instantly felt a deep awakening inside me as I connected with the stones and especially with myself. You see, I’ve always loved crystals, yet my experiences with them didn’t always follow what I read in some of the many guides out there. Sarah’s teachings resonated deep in my soul and more importantly, I learned that what mattered most, was MY connection with the stones.

Sarah, like me, is also a 5 Element acupuncturist and her classes are rooted in ancient Daoist teachings that are truly not taught anywhere else. She has spent the past decade studying with an 88th generation Daoist priest who has been called to bring this ancient stone wisdom to the forefront of healing. In fact, stones were used in Chinese medicine even prior to herbs, and are said to be the “grandmother of plant medicine.” This is deep earth medicine.

I know many of you have been waiting for me to offer classes and I still plan to, hopefully next spring. But for those of you craving the knowledge now, please consider this offering.

Enter the Cave is a 9-week certification course and only offered once per year. I don’t take promoting things lightly. I have decided to offer myself as support and will be available to anyone who signs up through my link for questions and assistance.

If you want to experience more of what learning with Sarah is like, please watch the reply of her recent video, Seeding the Future with Crystals or check out the many other free videos on her website.

Enrollment closes this Sunday night.
There is also a coupon code, “STALAGMITE1000” for 150.00 off. All links are in my bio. Rock on 🤪

Making due with what we got! Happy spring equinox! .
🌱
Today’s edition of what Laura has left out for you is: a springtime grid. in a mulch pile!🤪 .
🌱
If you’re out and about, feel free to swing by and take a stone from the grid. If you can, we would love for you to leave a word (on the paper provided in the box) with your springtime hope or intention for the future. Then place the paper where the stone was. (Better yet, take a picture of your word and tag us!) The stones will then be replaced with your words of hope. .
🌱
Watch the video in our story for more info about the grid. .
🌱
Deep breaths. ❤️ Happy spring.

This picture literally makes me ill.

"Why do we advocate SO heavily against PTs & Chiropractors doing DRY NEEDLING!?! SAFETY!!!
Believe it or not, this is not about professional territory, not in the way one would think. This IS about SAFETY!!!
The 1st TWO things we learn in acupuncture school before we ever stick a needle in a living, breathing human (& only after 1.5 years of theory/book study) is #1 NEEDLE DEPTH aka “Fen Depth.” & #2 NEVER EVER, EVER insert a needle to the handle regardless of length/depth!
We hear time and time again from patients who have experienced DRY NEEDLING from another health care practitioner (PTs/Chiros/MDs) who is less trained AND less regulated (than a licensed acupuncturist) that “dry needling is better than acupuncture because the needles go deeper” &&& we come across pictures like this DAILY. Our concern is not for the acupuncture and Chinese medicine profession, it is about SAFETY of the public!!! This idea simply demonstrates a clear lack of education, training and very little public knowledge regarding the differences of the two.
Did you know…part of us getting our medical licenses involve multiple NATIONAL BOARD EXAMS, one of which focuses specifically on general SAFETY, depth, & proper procedure when it comes to inserting needles.
Did you also know…while they may be Doctors within their own field, they are not taught, regulated &/or overseen in the same way that we are as NATIONALLY CERTIFIED, Licensed Acupuncturists, and Doctors of Chinese Medicine. IN FACT, South Carolina is one of the most lax states on ‘minimal required training’ and has virtually no oversight when it comes to Dry Needling.
All of this said, Dry Needling is not the problem; UNSAFE, UNREGULATED, and minimally EDUCATED Dry needling is dangerous. Dry Needling IS acupuncture! See a licensed acupuncturist for this work!"

In Chinese mythology dragons were considered one of the four most intelligent animals (along with the phoenix, unicorn, and tortoise). They are fierce, yet benevolent protectors. .

Life is complicated. Everything we encounter and experience piles on to tell our story. And sometimes things get stuck. These “things,” can be debilitating trauma or something you simply just can’t shake. Trauma is trauma no matter the size. .

Five element acupuncture is unique in many ways, one is which the use of a specific protocol involving dragons, 7 to be exact. Seven specific points that invite our personal dragons to assist us in letting go of what is stuck and clouding our truth. How amazing is that? .

I have witnessed this dragon power many times. It never ceases to amaze me. The shifts can be subtle, some describe they simply feel “lighter” afterward. And sometimes the shifts are life-changing. The dragons know what you need and more importantly YOU know what you need. I am simply here to initiate the experience with needles and stones. .

Do you believe in dragons? Because I do.
