I recently had the opportunity to speak at the LPCAGA Conference on Spiritual Trauma and attend several excellent workshops.

One takeaway that stood out to me was how much the stories we tell ourselves can influence our healing. The way we interpret our experiences can either support growth or keep us stuck in old wounds.

I also appreciated conversations about the importance of referrals, addressing sexual concerns with confidence and competence, and remembering that physical health can play an important role in emotional and relational well-being.

Grateful for opportunities to continue learning and growing alongside other clinicians.

Religious trauma can impact the way we view ourselves, others, faith, and even God.

For many people, the wounds are not only spiritual. They can affect trust, relationships, self-worth, and emotional well-being long after the experience has ended.

As therapists, clergy, and helping professionals continue learning about religious trauma, it is important that we listen to the voices of those who have lived it.

One of the greatest joys of my work is helping people discover that they are capable of more than they often believe.
Whether I'm counseling couples, teaching about spiritual trauma, or speaking on overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome, I believe growth begins when we have the courage to take the next step forward.
I'm grateful for every opportunity to encourage, challenge, and learn alongside others.

Experiencing hurt within a church can manifest in three common marital conflicts. These include arguments over lost shared identity on Sunday mornings, disagreements about religious upbringing, and disputes regarding core values and legacy.

Surface-level arguments in marriage often hide deeper wounds. This video explores how spiritual trauma from religious institutions can silently disrupt your relationship, making faith-related issues the real core of conflict.

Ever notice how arguments in relationships spiral? It's often the 'pursue or withdraw' dynamic. One person pushes, the other pulls away, creating a cycle that can damage connection. Understanding this pattern is the first step to breaking free.

Arguments often get stuck on the surface. This video dives into the deeper, often unspoken feelings that truly drive conflict and disconnection. Understanding this can transform your communication.

Ever wonder why a tiny thing sets off a huge argument? It's your brain's threat alarm for the relationship. This leads to either chasing or pulling away. Understanding this pattern is key.
