October is ADHD Awareness Month!

Many children who have ADHD may also have speech and language delays or disorders.

Sometimes, this is easily recognizable by parents and other times it is more subtle.

Your child's healthcare provider may recommend a speech and language evaluation to rule in/out the need for services.

When your child walks out (knowing you are having cheesy noodles for dinner) and asks "what are you doing with those beans?"

👀 👀 👀

"I may or may not be mixing them into the cheese sauce" 🤔

This is a fairly controversial topic in the feeding world.

✅ Yes, we want kids to learn to eat a wide variety of foods in their whole form
️✅️ No, we don't want to "hide", sneak, or force foods

BUT, I am all about finding *easy* ways to add nutrition to our diets. Even my own.

✅️ Do I love beans? Yes.
✅️ Do I love the health benefits of beans? Double yes.
✅️ But, do I struggle to find ways to get beans into our diets on a regular basis? Yes.

And this is true of so many nutrient-dense food - not just beans.

We know they are important, but it can be challenging to get them into our diets regularly. So, if mixing them into a cheese sauce adds more nutrients AND no one even notices they are there, even better!!!
