Today’s India in Light Brown is; Mughal architecture and 😍🤩😍 stone work 😍👀😍 both carvings and inlays. A bunch of different landmarks here including Qutub Minar, the baby Taj, and Agra Palace. Truly incredible craftsmanship and detail - these are some of my favorite pics to look back on. (And I snuck a selfie and some pics of mom in this one).

For the final India in Color; Dark Brown and Black edition, I wanted to return to the beautiful black rocks at the beaches. First pic is giving our collected offerings to the Arabian Sea 💕 Swipe for some cool rocks and accompanying sea life, more beach pics, and a fish scale named for the goddess Chamunda (potentially the nerdiest thing I took a pic of 🤓)

India in Color; Black - demons on the wall of the Tibetan Monastery ~ a small lagoon of quiet and peace in comparison to the bustling city around it. Loved all the paintings on the walls and a very special dog friend I made 💜

India in Color; Black - first sight/first light at the Taj 🌅 Words honestly do not do it justice. It’s just as surreal as you think it is.
Cooked some bright yellow masala potatoes tonight so I figured it was time for some more pics.

Someone recently asked me if I was going to continue my India in Color posts so I decided I would. Starting with Dark Browns and Black; rocks on the beach. Someone else I know traveled to India about the same time I did and when we both got back she mentioned she missed seeing nature and natural beauty while she was there and I was like.....excuse you? What India did you visit? (Bonus: can you spot the sea urchins? Mom and I got chased off the rocks by the life guards trying to look at the tide pools 🌊✨) (fine it was who asked secretly this was just a call out post).

I’ve been thinking a lot about the future recently and how to plan for it. What concrete steps can be taken when you don’t know what kind of future you’re stepping into as you take them? Can we dare to act as if the future we want is coming true at this moment, even if external forces tell us otherwise, tell us it’s impossible? Can we dare to dream beyond the realm of the intellect, and then act like it?
“Though I am beyond the intellect, I am not beyond your daring” - so says Bhairava (god) to his lover Devi (goddess) at the start of the Vijnana Bhairava Ta**ra (trans. to English as “The Radiance Sutras by Lorin Roche). Throughout the text, Bhairava urges us to enter each moment, each breath, each sensory impression, and recognize it as the totality, the whole, the infinite. I ask myself a lot of questions and rarely come up with satisfactory answers, but this text reminds me to take it moment by revolutionary extraordinary shocking moment. To act in the world, not avoid it.

Starting this week (8/25) I’ll be taking a short break from teaching my regular weekly online classes - but only so I can recharge and plan some even more exciting offerings for you moving forward ✨
One thing I’m really enjoying about working for myself and teaching online is how much more explorative my classes and format can be. I appreciate everyone who has already been showing up, and hopefully if you’ve been interested but haven’t made it to any classes yet, what I’m planning will excite you even more ⚡️

See you on zoom soon 💫
XOXO
