We’re excited to welcome Mari Johnson, LMSW, to the Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health team! Even more special, Mari is a former NEIBH intern, and we’re thrilled to welcome her back in this new role!

With a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky and over 20 years of experience supporting individuals in a variety of mental health settings, Mari brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and experience to our team.

Mari works with individuals of all ages who may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, or life transitions. She is dedicated to helping clients better understand themselves, build effective coping skills, and move forward with confidence.

Using evidence-based approaches and an individualized, person-centered style, Mari strives to create a safe, compassionate space where every client feels heard, supported, and respected.

Mari offers appointments face-to-face at our Children's Chrysalis Center or main office in Decorah, as well as virtually to help make services more accessible and convenient.

NORTHEAST IOWA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH IS CELEBRATING 70 YEARS OF SERVICE!

Since May 1956, Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health (NEIBH), has been dedicated to serving individuals and families throughout northeast Iowa.

In December 1972, our services expanded to include substance use disorder treatment, strengthening our commitment to supporting individuals on their journeys toward recovery.

For 70 years, our mission has remained at the heart of everything we do: Promoting Recovery and Quality of Life for the residents of northeast Iowa.

On October 15, 2026, we celebrated this incredible milestone with our Annual Meeting and Open House at our main office in Decorah. It was a special opportunity to reflect on our history, celebrate our progress, and recognize the dedicated employees who make our mission possible.
