As temperatures drop, we want to ensure our clients and community know where to find warming centers, shelter, and emergency support.

Nassau County • Temporary warming spaces are activated during extreme cold
• Winter Homeless Hotline (WARMBED):

Suffolk County • Warming centers at public libraries & community facilities (call ahead for hours)
• Suffolk County DSS Emergency Services:

Provides real-time information on shelters, warming centers, food access, and social services.

Under Code Blue, when temperatures fall to 32°F or below, emergency shelter access is required statewide.
