When Anna Wilson approached us with the idea of an Old-Fashioned Neighborhood Picnic we jumped at the chance! Inviting our neighbors over for a 250th birthday celebration sounded like the perfect way to bring our community together.

Barb City Manor is seeking a dependable and caring Housekeeper to join our team!

We're going "old school" With an Old-Fashioned Neighborhood Picnic for our residents, families and neighbors celebrating America's 250th birthday. Games, cake (while supplies last), Big D's Big D’s Hotdogs will be there selling scrumptious goodies, games, music by Jazz In Progress and a parade!

We are in need of a few volunteers to help with 1 or more of the following:

Something exciting is happening at Barb City Manor! 💚

Thanks to the incredible support of our ReSale Shop shoppers, donors, volunteers, and Summer Sale supporters, we are beginning work on a brand new vision for our Community Connection Project!

Our goal is to transform our current community room into a warm, welcoming space designed to bring generations together through:
✨ family connection
✨ games and social activities
✨ technology education
✨ student interaction
✨ coffee and conversation
✨ community engagement

We envision a space where grandchildren WANT to visit, residents can stay connected with loved ones, and meaningful relationships can continue to grow across generations.

The best part?
Funds raised during our upcoming ReSale Shop Summer Sale are being dedicated directly toward this exciting project!

WOW. Because of YOU, Barb City Manor raised a record-breaking $28,352 during Give DeKalb County!

We are beyond grateful to every donor, resident, family member, staff member, and supporter who helped make this incredible day possible. Your generosity directly supports the seniors who call Barb City Manor home and helps us continue creating a safe, welcoming, and connected community.

Donors have given over $15.7 Million since Give DeKalb County began in 2014. That's an incredible 13 years filled with generosity and making the nonprofit sector strong in DeKalb County!

🎸🎂🩷 What happens when you mix pajamas, rock n roll, dancing, birthday cake, and over 40 Barb City Manor residents? An unforgettable Wednesday night!

Our Rock N Roll Birthday Pajama Party was an absolute hit! Residents showed up in their favorite jammies ready to celebrate, dance, laugh, and enjoy an evening filled with classic rock n roll from the always entertaining Randy Walker. 🎶

We also proudly conquered an ENTIRE Costco cake… and honestly, not a crumb stood a chance. 🍰😄

A huge THANK YOU goes out to our amazing volunteer servers who helped make the evening run so smoothly. Nights like these simply wouldn’t happen without caring people willing to give their time and energy to our residents.

We’d also like to thank everyone who supports our onsite ReSale Shop. Our volunteers, shoppers, and donors. Your support helps create special evenings like this that make the BEST memories for our residents throughout the year. ❤️

Apartment Openings at Barb City Manor

We currently have 2 apartment openings at Barb City Manor!

✨ One apartment is available immediately
✨ A second apartment will be available in approximately 30 days

These comfortable studio-style apartments are approximately 13.5’ x 16.5’ and offer an affordable, supportive living option for older adults who want independence with a little extra peace of mind. Both apartments feature a shared-shower floor plan and are currently designated for female residents. Financial assistance available through the DeKalb County Housing Authority and Barb City Manor available for those who qualify.

Monthly cost is $2,150 and includes:
✔️ 3 home-cooked meals daily
✔️ Weekly housekeeping
✔️ WiFi
✔️ All utilities (except optional phone/cable)
✔️ A safe, welcoming community with 24/7 staff presence

We currently have a short wait list, and apartments are being rented almost as soon as they become available.

If you or a loved one are considering Barb City Manor sometime in the next 6–12 months, now is the perfect time to schedule a tour and get your name on the list. There is absolutely no cost, obligation, or pressure to do so — but planning ahead is the smart thing to do.
