The right to seek asylum is rooted in a basic idea: that people fleeing persecution and serious harm deserve the opportunity to tell their story. Humanitarian visas and asylum are part of that larger system of refuge, but telling that story often requires more than legal documents alone.
Psychological evaluations help document the psychological impact of trauma, giving attorneys an understanding of what a person has experienced.
