Richard “Dick” Nussbaum, age 92, of Brandon, formerly of Garretson, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Garretson. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 PM Friday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Garretson. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.

Janis L. Larson Haagenson was born March 7, 1935, in Madison, SD, the only child of John and Leona (Olson) Larson. Janis passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, surrounded by family.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 23 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral will be Monday, August 24 at 11:00 am with luncheon immediately following. Both events are hosted at the West Nidaros Lutheran Church in rural Crooks. A private burial will take place at Pioneer Cemetery in rural Baltic.

The family requests memorial donations in Janis’ name to go to Pioneer Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30-7:00 PM Tuesday, at Taopi Hall in Colton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Jacob’s Lutheran Memorial Fund.

Steve “Gundy” Gunderson was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, coach, teacher, mentor, volunteer, and friend. He passed away at Ava’s House on August 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Visitation will be held at the Baltic Middle School Gymnasium, “Gundy’s Gym,” on Friday, August 21 from 4:00–6:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Baltic Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 22, at 1:00 p.m. A private family burial will take place prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Baltic Lutheran Church or the Baltic Fire Department Station Fund.
