I’ve been asked a few times about whether tools like the hip hook are worth buying. My answer is always, “it depends on why that muscle is tight”.
Tight muscles don’t always need to be lengthened to restore function. If you’re trying to run/lift/throw/ride at a level that your body isn’t ready for, your nervous system is going to try to manage that by locking stuff down - pain is just the signal.
If you’re successful in self release, you may feel better in the short term but until you figure out what’s driving the tightness, you’re going to be going around in circles.
If you’re struggling with pain that just won’t quit despite constant stretching and rest, you need a different strategy.
Send me a DM and we can work out a plan to get you moving better again.
