These ladies are my why. My clients inspire me every day to dig deeper. They are the reason I teach the way I do. They are the reason I've studied and studied and studied the breath, the airway, the tongue, automatic core activation, and functional movement to the extent I have. Because when I'm in my 70s and 80s, I want to be able to do a split on the reformer while balancing on a single leg and twisting my spine, while allowing a gentle inhalation through the nose and exhalation to guide my movement. They make this look easy, but it should be. Movement is meant to be easy. Our bodies are never stagnant. We have a lymphatic system, a circulatory system, a respiratory system, and a nervous system and multiple other systems (those are just the ones I'm evaluating and treating throughout my day on my table and in the studio) working for us 24 hours a day. These systems are working when our muscles and joints are not moving. The only way that those things can function to help our muscles and joints make this look easy is through the breath, and this beautiful anterior pumping system that supports our spine and so much regulation in our body. I am so excited to continue to share my journey to airway health. I've literally been treating the airway since DAY 1 as a new grad 23+ years ago (not by choice but that story can come later). The body is fascinating, complex and is eager to be healed. If anyone ever tells you, you can't, talk to me because you can.
