**Stop blaming yourself. Start asking better questions.**

For a long time, I thought better health meant working harder.

Eat cleaner.
Exercise more.
Be more disciplined.

So when progress slowed, I assumed I was the problem.

Then I started learning more about how the body actually works.

I discovered that nutrition is only one piece of the picture. Sleep, stress, recovery, medications, hormones, gut health, and even daily routines can all influence the results you seeโ€”or don't see.

That changed the way I approach every health decision.

Today, I don't start by asking, *"What's the best diet?"*

I start by asking, *"What information am I missing?"*

That single question has changed how I coach, how I make decisions for myself, and how I help others understand their own health.

Sometimes the next breakthrough doesn't come from trying harder.

It comes from seeing the whole picture.

Have you ever learned something that completely changed the way you approached your health?

I'd love to hear your story in the comments.

One of the biggest shifts in my own thinking happened when I stopped asking:
"How can I work harder?"
and started asking:
"What information am I missing?"
That one question changed the way I think about nutrition, performance, recovery, and long-term health.
This week's article explores why progress often comes from understanding moreโ€”not simply trying harder.
If you've ever felt like you're were doing everything "right" but still not seeing the results you expected, I think you'll find a different perspective.

Most people assume that when they're not making progress, it's a discipline problem. But that's not always true.

Sometimes the system is broken. Sometimes the data is misleading you. Sometimes you're working incredibly hard in the wrong direction โ€” and no amount of willpower is going to fix that.

Before you blame yourself, ask a better question: Is my lack of progress a discipline issue, or an information issue?

Better data leads to better decisions. And better decisions lead to real progress.

What's one area where you've been pushing harder instead of looking closer? Drop it in the comments. ๐Ÿ‘‡

What if the problem isn't that you need a new plan?

Sometimes progress stalls because the information you're working with is incomplete. Tracking weight but not sleep. Watching calories but overlooking medications. Focusing on workouts while stress and recovery quietly shift beneath the surface.

Ask yourself:
What has changed?
What am I not measuring?
What pattern keeps repeating?

A roadblock is often just a gap in information.

Ever followed a health plan perfectly... and still didn't get the results you expected? ๐Ÿค”

Most people blame themselves.

โŒ "I wasn't disciplined enough."
โŒ "I wasn't consistent enough."
โŒ "I just need a stricter plan."

But what if that isn't the problem?

๐Ÿ“Š A study of **800 people** found that identical meals produced blood sugar responses that varied by **up to threefold** between participants.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Same food.
๐Ÿงฌ Different bodies.
๐Ÿ“ˆ Completely different outcomes.

๐Ÿ’ก That's not failure.

It's information.

Before you blame yourself, ask a better question:

**๐Ÿค” What information might be missing?**

This week, we're exploring why your **individual context**โ€”your health history, sleep, stress, medications, lifestyle, and moreโ€”may matter more than most health plans acknowledge.

๐Ÿ‘‡ What's one piece of health advice that never worked for you? Share it in the comments.

07/10/2026

Health advice is everywhere.

๐Ÿฅฆ Eat this.
๐Ÿ›‘ Avoid that.
๐Ÿ’ช Try this workout.
๐Ÿ“‹ Follow this program.

While many of these recommendations have value, there's one massive question that gets overlooked:

Is it actually right for you? ๐Ÿค”

No two people share the same goals, lifestyle, health history, or starting point. Thatโ€™s why lasting progress rarely comes from copy-pasting someone elseโ€™s blueprint.

Real, sustainable change comes from understanding your own body.

At 139 Performance & Wellness, we believe personalized guidance isn't about making health more complicated. Itโ€™s about making it more meaningful.

Because when a plan is built around you, it becomes easier to understand, easier to follow, and impossible to outgrow.

๐Ÿ“ Know where you are. Build where you're going.

Two people can eat the exact same meals, follow the exact same planโ€ฆ and get completely different results.
Sound familiar?
Here's why.

Nutrition is powerful โ€” genuinely one of the best tools we have for better health. We believe that more than ever.
But it's not the whole story.
Your results aren't just written on your plate. They're written in:
๐Ÿ˜ด Your sleep ๐Ÿ˜ค Your stress ๐Ÿ’ช Your recovery ๐Ÿƒ Your movement ๐ŸŒ™ Your daily habits

And in how all of it works together โ€” or works against you.
That's exactly why we expanded beyond nutrition coaching.

139 Performance & Wellness was built around the bigger picture. Nutrition is still one of our foundations โ€” it always will be. But lasting change rarely comes from fixing one piece in isolation. It comes from seeing the whole system, because the goal was never just "eat better."
The goal is to feel better. Function better. Live better.

๐Ÿ“ Know where you are. ๐ŸŽฏ Build where you're going.

Health is personal.

No two people share the same experiences, goals, challenges, or starting point. Yet so often, health is approached as though one solution should work for everyone.

At 139 Performance & Wellness, we believe there's a better way.
Built on the foundation of 139 FIT, our vision has expanded beyond nutrition and fitness coaching to embrace a more personalized approach to health, wellness, and performance.

Nutrition and fitness remain an important part of that journey, but they're only part of the picture. Sleep, recovery, stress, movement, lifestyle, and many other factors work together to influence how we feel, function, and perform.

Our goal is simple: help people better understand their health so they can make informed decisions and create a personalized path toward long-term wellness and performance.

Because meaningful change doesn't begin with another program.
It begins with understanding.

Know where you are. Build where you're going.
Welcome to 139 Performance & Wellness.

THE QUESTIONS THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

One of the most frustrating experiences is feeling like you're doing everything right and still not getting the results you expected.

That's where I found myself.

โœ”๏ธ I was exercising.
โœ”๏ธ I was trying to make good nutrition choices.
โœ”๏ธ I was paying attention to my health.

Yet I still felt like something wasn't adding up. The more I thought about it, the more questions I had.

โ‰๏ธ Why am I working this hard and still struggling?
โ‰๏ธ What am I missing?
โ‰๏ธCould there be factors I haven't considered?
โ‰๏ธWhat if effort isn't the problem?

For a long time, I kept looking for better answers, but eventually, I realized something. The turning point wasn't finding better answers. It was asking better questions.

Those questions sent me down a path of learning, research, and discovery that I'm still on today.
โžก๏ธ I'm still digging.
โžก๏ธ I'm still learning.
โžก๏ธ I'm still testing some of what I'm discovering in my own life.

Looking back, everything started with a few simple questions. Sometimes the right question doesn't solve the problem. It simply helps you see the problem differently.

What's one question you've been asking about your health lately?
