Starting with the 2026–2027 school year, Florida’s “Second Chance Act” makes electrocardiogram (EKG/ECG) screenings mandatory for all incoming 9th graders and any first-time high school athletes before they can participate in sports.

A standard sports physical checks muscles and joints, but it can’t map the heart. At ExpressDocs, we make athletic clearance simple, safe, and stress-free:

JULY 4th: Road Closures: 12 p.m. – 11 p.m. East Atlantic Avenue from Intracoastal Bridge to A1A; A1A from Thomas Street to Miramar Drive.

Delray Beach 4th of July Celebration: July 4, 2026, 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. East Atlantic Avenue from the Intracoastal Bridge to A1A.

The event will include food trucks, vendors, children’s activities, games, arts and crafts, a photo booth, glitter tattoos, face painting, carnival games, toddler soft play and other family activities.

At 5 p.m. 1976 Bicentennial Time Capsule Opening, Main Stage at A1A. According to the city, the capsule was sealed 50 years ago and contains memories, messages and artifacts from a previous generation of Delray Beach residents.

At 6 p.m. a 60-foot flag raising ceremony is scheduled at Atlantic Avenue and Seabreeze Avenue, with the National Anthem.

At 6:30 p.m. Live Music and Entertainment, Main Stage at A1A

At 9 p.m. Fireworks, Beachfront / A1A area

Delray Beach’s July 4 celebration will include more than fireworks this year.

The city plans to open a 1976 time capsule as America marks its 250th birthday, with road closures, live music and beach activities also scheduled.
