Our Rx for Summer Reading book is here!!

We look forward to this event every Summer with Reach Out and Read-Alabama!

This year’s book is Lola Plants a Garden. It’s a sweet story about gardening and patience.

On Saturday, July 18th, we’re inviting all the kiddos (they don’t even have to be our patient!) to come by the clinic as we all pot our own plants, do crafts, and have snacks.

We’ll read the book together and each child will get a copy of the book to take home!

This headline made us sad. 💔

A new survey found rural Americans are less likely than urban and suburban adults to have had a routine checkup or cancer screening in the past year.

We don’t want that to be true for our AFC family.

Summer is a great time to catch up before the busy fall season fills your calendar.

✅ Adults: routine visits, cancer screenings, bloodwork

✅ Kids: well-checks, sports physicals, immunizations

We are excited to introduce you all to the clinic’s first ever Summer Student Intern, Jakayla Rowser!

Jakayla has been hanging with us for the past few weeks in clinic and will be with us until she leaves for college at UWA where she will major in nursing! She wants to be a Mother Baby nurse (postpartum nurse).

She has been a sweet, breath of fresh air to the clinic this Summer!

She spends her days here seeing some patients with the staff and helping with many administrative tasks in the clinic.

We’re so happy to have her and we look forward to opening this same experience up to students every Summer going forward!
