On World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, we're highlighting the important role hospice and palliative care play in helping patients and families navigate serious illness.

Both hospice and palliative care focus on comfort, quality of life and support, helping patients receive care that aligns with their goals and wishes. Palliative care can begin at diagnosis and alongside treatment. Hospice care is typically chosen when treatment is no longer working or a patient decides to stop curative treatment for a terminal illness, shifting the focus to comfort, quality of life and support for both the patient and their loved ones.

CAREGIVER SPOTLIGHT 🎉📣✨

With 34 years as a registered nurse, I’ve had the privilege of caring for patients in a variety of settings, including the nursery, medical-surgical, behavioral health, detox, case management, and community care. I’m grateful to now be part of the Amedisys Home Health team, where I enjoy helping patients remain safe, independent, and comfortable in the place they call home.

Outside of work, I’m blessed with two sons, two wonderful daughters-to-be, and a new granddaughter. Family is my greatest joy, and I love spending time with them—whether we’re traveling, shopping, sharing a meal, or simply making memories together.

💚 Meet Kate Gresco, RN!

Kate has been a nurse for a little over two years and loves caring for patients in the comfort of their own homes. After beginning her nursing career on a progressive and neuro care unit, she found her passion in home health, where she enjoys building meaningful relationships and helping patients achieve better health through education, encouragement, and compassionate care.

Kate is also a newlywed! She married her best friend, Landon, in April and recently moved to the Demopolis area. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, staying active, and making memories with family and friends.

We’re so happy to have Kate as part of the Amedisys Home Health of Demopolis family! 💚
