Labor Day is more than the unofficial end of summer. It is a day set aside to recognize the generations of working men and women whose dedication, skill, sacrifice, and perseverance have helped build and strengthen our communities and our nation.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on the dignity of work—the idea that every honest profession and every person who serves, creates, builds, teaches, cares, protects, and provides contributes something meaningful to the lives of others.

Here in our community, we see that spirit every day—in our first responders, healthcare professionals, educators, farmers, tradespeople, small-business owners, factory workers, service workers, public servants, and countless others who quietly give their time and talents to make our community a better place to call home.
