We are pleased to announce our practice is growing! We would like to welcome Dr. Catherine Coleman Johnson!
Dr. Johnson is a Denham Springs native with a heart for caring for people as much as caring for their vision. She graduated from Denham Springs High School in 2004. She received her undergraduate degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. In 2014, she received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where she served as Class President for her entire tenure. Prior to her optometry career, she was a high school chemistry teacher in Livingston Parish. Following optometry school, Dr. Johnson did a residency in Southeast Louisiana. Currently, she practices primary eye care, treats and manages ocular disease, sees adults and pediatric patients, and performs specialty contact lens fittings.
Dr. Johnson is the American Optometric Association Federal Advocacy Representative for Louisiana as well as a member of the SECO MedPro 360 Committee. She was in the inaugural class of the American Optometric Association Leadership Institute in 2021 and previously served as an Optometry Association of Louisiana Society President.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Johnson is passionate about her community and her family. She is active in her local church, where she teaches the 3-year-olds on Sunday. In her spare time, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband, family, and young children, Paxton and Paisley; and fishing.
Dr. Johnson is now seeing patients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Call to schedule your eye exam with her!
