Move in complete, art hung — only thing I need is a 🪧… 😏
Today is a half day. I wanted to write the first blog since relocating but I’ll summarize .. It has been a whirlwind 🌪️✨ — in the most positive way. And I’m 🤔 a little different thanks to a change of place & pace. The theme of my blog - before any of this sign 💬- was going to be about the spirit 🪽of . One of the biggest things I’ve discovered here📍 is I don’t have a “brand” or simply a spa on Cape Cod. Bigger picture ☁️ …. I run a hospitality business and what better place 🌾🌊 to be doing that than a coastal destination. It’s a pressure and a privilege (in equal proportion) to make people feel welcome and cared for. Esp now, because I know everyone is juggling a lot and people feel stretched thin. Yes, even on vacation!
I love obsessing over the details… making sure the cookies in the wait room always have the 🤏 perfect crunch haha, table warmer balances out with AC ❄️ and (more importantly) that people feel seen and listened to. Seems like it’s becoming increasingly rare these days and opening a new space during a times like these cemented the importance of hospitality in a whole new perspective 🙌🏽🪟✨..
I’m going to pick up Walt Disney’s biography again, and Danny Meyer’s Setting the Table is next on my list. If anyone has other book recommendations on hospitality, guest experience, or creating places people genuinely love returning to, I’d love to hear them. 📚
