Teddy Gant Jr. almost didn't make it into this world. At 12 years old, he learned that his own birth nearly ended in tragedy and decided then that he wanted to change that story for others. Now he is one of the few male doulas in Texas, showing up for Black mothers in Houston where the maternal mortality rate for Black women is nearly three times the national average. An 'Only Murders in the Building' Writer Brought a Stunning Bedazzled Breast Pump to the Emmys 👏

The pump wasn’t a joke prop. It was her actual breast pump, decorated by artist Nora Casey with rhinestones, pearls, pink gems, and floral embellishments. Cox was attending the Emmys as a nominee while also navigating the realities of being a breastfeeding mother.

She wrote although Only Murders in the Building didn’t win any awards, “we didn’t get mastitis!”

Postpartum mental illness can be difficult to recognize, even for people who know the warning signs. About one in eight women in the U.S. reports symptoms of postpartum depression after giving birth, but experts say perinatal mental health encompasses far more than depression alone. For some, serious psychiatric symptoms can emerge months later, including around hormonal transitions such as weaning—an area researchers say remains largely unstudied.

Welcoming of the Baby is happening September 28, 2026, from 10:30 AM–2:30 PM at Sinte Gleska University Gymnasium in Mission, SD.

Healthy Start welcomes mothers, fathers, and caregivers with babies from birth to 18 months for a special ceremony led by Janice Richards, Ruth Cedar Face, and Delaney Apple of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

Attendees can receive essential baby items, including car seats, Pack ’n Plays, diapers, wipes, breast pumps, safe-sleep kits, books, sleep sacks, diaper bags, Boppy pillows, and more. New baby items will also be raffled.
