Natural medicine can involve several professionals around one person: facilitators, therapists, physicians, social workers, supervisors, healing-center staff, and other support providers.

That is exactly why role clarity matters.

Who is providing facilitation? Who is providing psychotherapy? Who is responsible for the administration environment? What communication has the client authorized? What belongs inside one professional's scope - and what should be referred elsewhere?

Sophisticated care is not one person trying to do everything.

It is a coordinated system where people understand their role, stay inside it, and know when collaboration is appropriate.

MHC wants to make that structure easier for facilitators, therapists, and clients to understand.

Preparation is not paperwork you get through so the “real” experience can begin.

It is where trust starts.

You learn what the process actually involves. Your facilitator learns about you. Health history, expectations, boundaries, intentions, logistics, consent, and questions all have somewhere to go before journey day.

That matters because uncertainty feels very different when you have had time to ask about it.

Colorado's regulated framework includes screening, disclosures, consent, and planning before administration. At MHC, we see those steps as more than compliance requirements. Done well, they help a person arrive informed rather than simply excited, nervous, or unsure.

The journey does not begin when the medicine is administered. It begins with preparation.

Facilitation can become isolating quickly - especially when the cases are complex, the field is new, and many practitioners are building businesses at the same time they are developing professionally.

Community is not just networking. It is having peers who understand the work. People you can learn beside. A place where ethics, professional growth, reflection, and sustainability can be normal conversations instead of private burdens.

Colorado's continuing-education framework even recognizes qualifying facilitator peer-support groups as one way licensed practitioners can earn a portion of CE hours.

A client exploring natural medicine should not have to choose between that
experience and the therapeutic relationship they already trust.

A strong referral pathway can preserve continuity. The therapist keeps doing
therapy. A licensed facilitator provides natural medicine services within their
scope. The healing center provides the regulated setting for administration.
With client permission and clear boundaries, the pieces can complement each
other instead of competing.

That matters because the days and weeks after an experience often return the
client to the same relationships, stressors, patterns, and questions they were
already working with.

We want therapists to feel comfortable referring to MHC because the goal is
not to replace good therapy. It is to fit responsibly alongside it.

It is happening today.

Sixty years ago, nobody outside California took Napa seriously. Today the name on the label carries more value than most of what is in the bottle. That shift was not luck. It was a small group of people who decided to organize, build credibility, claim their place, and carry the vision in public.

Colorado's natural medicine community is sitting roughly where Napa once sat. Early, licensed, and largely working in isolation.

So today we are getting in a room together to ask what we could build here, and who is ready to help build it.

This is a working conversation, not a webinar you sit through. The best ideas in the room will be the ones we have not said yet.
